Toyota has really been throwing us information lately on all its 2022 models. In fast and furious fashion.

We finally got to see what 2022 Tundra will look like. New Corolla Cross. Next-Gen GR86. New Tacoma trims. An all-electric SUV coming.

Plus, we are learning a little about what Toyota Camry has in store for 2022.

2022 Toyota Camry News

First off, Camry was refreshed last year with all-new exterior styling, a new floating multimedia screen and new wheel designs on many trims.

I would not expect too many changes coming for 2022, but there is always room for a surprise or two.

Like this one. Caught me completely off-guard.

Fans of Camry TRD may be interested in learning there will be a new color coming to 2022 Camry TRD.

Cavalry Blue will be offered as a color choice for 2022 Toyota Camry TRD. This is surprising because this is the first time Toyota has taken a “blue color chance” with Camry TRD.

2022 Camry Cavalry Blue

I am a huge fan of Cavalry Blue. Off-roading fans will remember this was first introduced on FJ Cruiser. Then it became the exclusive TRD Pro color for 2018 Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner.

My Torque News story ranking all previous TRD Pro colors from worst to first proved to be quite controversial. I chose Cavalry Blue as my favorite. Many people disagreed with my list and came up with lists of their own.

To have Cavalry Blue make a triumphant return and grace the sporty and swift Toyota Camry TRD in 2022 will surprise and delight many Camry fans.

Although there are no official pictures yet showing a 2022 Toyota Camry in Cavalry Blue, I suspect some should show up within the next few weeks.

2022 Toyota Camry release date

We should start seeing our first 2022 Camry vehicles hit retail dealerships around September-type time frame.

No word when we will get our first in-person look at Cavalry Blue.

Time for your Toyota Camry comments

Well, what do you think? Are you a fan of Cavalry Blue color? If so, can you imagine this shade on the 2022 Toyota Camry?

For me, I cannot wait to see it up close and personal.

Thanks for reading everyone. See you next story when I show an exclusive first look at 2022 Tundra interior.

Not a big fan of many of Toyota’s color schemes - Cavalry Blue isn’t a bad color on the Tundra, but Cement, Lunar Rock, whatever the Silly Putty color was called are butt-ugly. Toyota has had some beautiful colors - Barcelona Red, Ruby Flare Pearl, Galactic Aqua Mica, Magnetic Grey Metallic, even Voodoo Blue. I know tastes vary, but it has caused me to NOT buy the vehicle mode/trim that I want because color options were limited.

I have a Camry and want to buy another but the colors you offer are horrible. Why is that? Camry has got to have the worst colors. If they do t change on their 2022, I will not buy one. Sick of their colors. I just don’t understand it. Who chooses the colors. Fire him or her

THANK you, Dom!!! My sentiments exactly.

The Camry's color choices get more boring and limited every year. We currently have a 2014 Camry (color "Creme Brulee"). Even though it's been trouble-free for over seven years (knock on wood), I thought it might be nice to get a new one, but the 2022 selection is such a turnoff that we'll just stick with what we have.

There are no true choices. Unless I'm missing something, there are white and ice (basically the same), grey and silver (basically the same), black, muddy red, or neon blue.

This conversation brings to mind a quote from Henry Ford on the Model T. (Forgive me if I don't get it exactly right): "You can paint it any color you want as long as it's black."

Unfortunately I think that's where we're headed.

We ordered our new 2022 Toyota TRD Camry back in July in the Calvery Blue. Hoping to hear something about it soon.

FYI that FJ in the article is not Calvary Blue, that is a 2014 Trails Teams edition and is Heritage Blue. Very similar but different.
