Toyota Reveals Several Interior Clues in Latest 2022 Tundra Picture

Today we learned more about 2022 Toyota Tundra interior. There is a lot to love here.

Toyota is choosing to reveal its next-generation 2022 Tundra to the world in small little segments.

First, we got an eight-second teaser video showing next-gen Toyota Tundra front end. Next, we had an official Toyota reveal photo of Tundra TRD Pro.

Now, we have a Tundra interior teaser picture to discuss.

So, this is our first official look at what 2022 Tundra will look like. This panoramic photo is taken from the driver and passenger perspective looking out the front windshield.

Toyota takes special pride in not showing us too much, even though we Tundra fans are screaming for all the juicy feature details all at once.

Interesting marketing campaign, Toyota.

The post is titled “Adventure on the Horizon with the All-New 2022 Tundra.” Below the picture reads “A front-row seat to adventure in the next-generation 2022 Toyota Tundra.

Even from the brief teaser, we can see that Toyota is serious about modernizing Toyota Tundra interior for 2022. Tundra will be a strong competitor in the full-size truck segment.

My 2022 Tundra Impressions

The first thing I notice, ironically enough, is not Toyota Tundra at all. This picture is taken in a mountainous setting on a remote sandy road. Could this imply next-gen Tundra will have more off-roading features that cater to such travel?

Or maybe this is just a nice backdrop.

I feel we are looking at a white 2022 Tundra TRD Pro in the picture. More than likely the same white TRD Pro from the Toyota reveal picture last week. Not sure if this is Wind Chill Pearl, but that would be a strong educated guess.

Next, look at the leather-wrapped steering wheel. It features a Cockpit Red accent stripe to complement the black wrapping. I believe this accent piece goes with Cockpit Red seating. I guess it does not take a rocket scientist to put the two and two together here.

What we do not know is how the seats themselves will be accented. Tundra could feature all-red seats or maybe black seats with red accents.

Next, look at the multimedia system. Toyota also captioned on Instagram, “whatever you’re thinking…think bigger. The next generation Tundra is all-new for 2022.”

Although it is difficult to determine actual size, this could be either a 12.3-inch or 14-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay is shown on the screen.

Toyota is launching its next-gen multimedia system for fourth quarter of 2021, but no word was given about what model would initially carry this new technology.

I think many of us hope Tundra gets it. If this state-of-the-art technology is currently available, I cannot imagine it would not be put immediately inside the spacious Tundra cabin. That is the way to launch a next-gen with a bang.

Also, the “oh bleep” handle is back on the driver side. This should be helpful for people who would like an extra boost getting up into this gigantic full-size 2022 Toyota Tundra.

The other subtle-but-powerful clue I saw was JBL speakers inside the A-Pillars. I am unsure if this JBL audio system is standard on Tundra TRD Pro or if it requires an optional upgrade. We will find that out soon enough.

Well, not soon enough for me.
