Jeep is starting off 2025 by making a big push for its all-new Jeep Wagoneer S. Jeep’s first battery electric vehicle is making its customer debut at the Chicago Auto Show. The vehicle has been seen plenty of times but now the public will be able to experience it during the show’s “Ride and Drive” events. It will also be on display on the show floor. The all-new 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona EV will also be making its “Ride and Drive” debut so potential buyers can see and hear the new electric muscle car.
Jeep Wagoneer S
As I have reported previously, the all-new Jeep Wagoneer S is the brand’s first global battery-electric vehicle. Jeep is promising that the Wagoneer S will deliver 4xe capability and have state of the art technology. The midsize SUV will have 600 horsepower and 617 lb.-ft. of instantaneous torque. The Wagoneer S has a lightning-quick 0-60 mph acceleration time of 3.4 seconds. It should get 300 miles of range on a full charge. Consumers will be able to take free test rides during Chicago Auto Show public days. It will be on the Chicago Drives Electric track. Jeep is also promising to reveal a new trim package for the Wagoneer S during the show.
Newsweek recently named the Jeep Wagoneer S “One of the Most Anticipated Vehicles of 2025.”
In its review, Newsweek says,
“Jeep was supposed to bring the Wagoneer S to market in the autumn of 2024, but it's been put on hold to make it "perfect" quality, said Antonio Filosa, chief executive officer of Jeep, in September. The company told Newsweek that they will have fresh launch timing information available "soon." The 600-horsepower electric SUV pairs power with the company's traction management system to deliver a zippy drive. Jeep promises a range of 300 miles from a single charge. With a 19-speaker McIntosh sound system, electronic door releases, 45 inches of usable screen space and customizable LED lighting, Wagoneer S is positioned to be the most technologically advanced Jeep on the market. The Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition will be the first model out of the gate. It is priced at $71,995 including the destination charge.”
Dodge Charger Daytona BEV
The all-new Dodge Charger Daytona, the next generation of American muscle, is the first BEV from Dodge and is now available in dealerships. The Charger Daytona retains Dodge’s title as the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car with 670 horsepower and 627 lb. ft. of torque. It reaches 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds while running the quarter-mile in an estimated 11.5 seconds.
Unlike most EVs, the Charger Daytona produces a sound much like a muscle car. Dodge has created the world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system, which delivers muscle-car levels of sound intensity that set the Charger apart from other BEVs.
As I reported last week, Dodge is looking for social media influencers to act as brand ambassadors for the Charger Daytona EV. Dodge says it is looking for “passionate enthusiasts” to represent Dodge at various events. Dodge is first rolling out its all-new 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack EV. The Dodge Charger lineup will feature standard all-wheel drive for all models. Eventually, Dodge will offer several different performance choices and powertrain options. Two-door coupe versions of the all-electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack and Daytona R/T will be the first available in the lineup, but four-door and ICE versions are also going to be produced. People attending the Chicago Auto Show will be able to take free test rides during public days on the Chicago Drives Electric track.
Ram’s Extended-Range Ramcharger Hybrid Also on Display
The all-new Ram 1500 Ramcharger, with its projected range of up to 690 miles, will also be on display on the Chicago Auto Show floor. The Ramcharger chassis, with a its electric powertrain and onboard gasoline generator hybrid system, will showcase its technology.
The Ram 1500 Ramcharger features a 92-kilowatt-hour battery pack, paired with an onboard 130-kW generator, sending power to the front (250 kW) and to the rear (238 kW) electric drive modules (EDMs). The Ramcharger delivers 663 horsepower and over 615 lb.-ft. of torque. The Ramcharger should be available in the second half of this year. Customers will be able to see it, but won’t be able to take rides in it, yet.
The Chicago show runs February 8-17 at McCormick Place.
