Chevrolet is confirming that the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will receive some upgrades over the 2026 model. In 2027, Corvette Stingray will upgrade to the new LS6 engine, which will be the most powerful standard engine ever offered on the Corvette. Stingray buyers can also select an available center-exhaust for the first time in the mid-engine era. The Stingray will join the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and Corvette Grand Sport X in offering the LS6 engine. The next-generation LS6 6.7L V8 now becomes Corvette’s primary engine. The LS6 raises the bar for performance thanks to engine architecture upgrades that will soon benefit other V8-powered Chevrolets.

“There is no replacement for displacement! Our next generation LS6 engine pushes 409 cubic inches of jackhammer fury through the tailpipes,” said Mike Kociba, assistant chief engineer, Next Generation V8. “Combining large displacement, modern technology, and proven Small Block V8 heritage will deliver a bold new chapter in performance.”

Engineers are integrating some of the knowledge learned from more powerful variants back into Stingray. Updated calibrations for the available Magnetic Ride Control suspension provide better body control, optimizing performance. The track-capable Z51 Performance Package is enhanced with a shorter 5.56:1 final drive ratio for more immediacy on throttle, adjusted aerodynamics for performance, and the car sits on a newly developed Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tire.

Chevrolet Calls Stingray the Heart of the Corvette Lineup

The Corvette Stingray is designed to be an everyday supercar. Both Corvette Grand Sport and Grand Sport X are driver’s cars first, whether the day calls for a long highway stretch, a favorite canyon road, or a session at the track. With the new Grand Sport lineup and the refreshed Stingray powered by a next-generation V8, the Corvette line-up’s most attainable models are stronger than ever.

The Corvette Stingray offers the performance you want and the versatility you need. It’s the ideal blend of high performance, iconic design and cargo capacity for everyday usability.

Stingray is Designed to be the Most Beautiful Corvette

The Corvette Stingray is designed with dynamic lines, beautiful proportions, and refined craftsmanship. While the ZR1 and Z06 are designed to reflect power in motion, in my opinion, the Stingray appears more sculpted and fluid. The Stingray's newly reimagined, driver-centric interior features premium materials, an intuitive layout, and a wide range of customization options for a truly elevated experience.

Brian Stoeckle, GM Creative Design Manager, for Chevrolet Interiors says about the Stingray, “You see real stitching, leather and suede. Aluminum and stainless steel… all of these things are working together in perfect harmony.”

The driver-centric interior is an immersive experience with luxury materials wherever you look. From the vehicle’s controls to available suede, leather and carbon fiber accents, everything is within easy reach.

New LS6 V-8 Engine

Chevrolet’s new LS6 6.7L V-8 delivers 535 horsepower and 520 lb.-ft. of torque with a deep, exhilarating exhaust note. Buyers can opt for the new, available center-exit exhaust. This will be the first time a center exhaust has been offered on a pushrod V8 in the eighth generation of Corvette. The current Corvette Stingray engine has 495 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque.

Chevrolet Not Confirming Any Design Changes for 2027

At this point, Chevrolet is not saying anything about possible design changes to the body or interior. It is only confirming the engine change and new center exhaust. In fact, the photo featured for the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray mirrors the one promoting the 2026 model.

Stingray already offers cutting-edge technology that’s both functional and intuitive. The state-of-the-art command center features three new driver display screens: a larger 12.7-inch diagonal center console display, an expanded 14-inch diagonal Driver Information Center and an all-new 6.6-inch diagonal touchscreen auxiliary display.

GM’s Bowling Green Assembly will build the Stingray and Grand Sport lineup with US and globally sourced parts beginning this summer.
