Auto Express reports that SVO is putting the finishing touches on the high-performance XE SVR to take on the likes of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, BMW M3, and Mercedes-AMG C63.

Like the current crop of SVR models - the Jaguar F-Type and Range Rover Sport - the XE will utilize a 5.0L supercharged V8 engine paired up with an eight-speed automatic. Don't expect the XE SVR to be producing 575 horsepower like the other SVR models. Instead, Auto Express says it will likely produce 500 horsepower. It is unclear if the XE SVR will be rear-wheel drive or follow the F-Type SVR with all-wheel drive. In terms of the chassis, the XE SVR will feature new springs, dampers, and a limited-slip rear differential.

As for a possible launch, Auto Express says the XE SVR "will arrive almost halfway through the saloon’s lifecycle."
