The Tesla Cybertruck Should Be Selling For Far More Than $120,000: What The Price Should Be

The most expensive Tesla Cybertruck, the Cyberbeast Foundation Series, is selling for $120,000 right now. However, it should be selling for a lot more - here's how much.

Tesla Cybertruck: Worth Much More Than $120,000

According to one X user, Teslaconomics, the Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast Foundation Series Cybertruck should cost much more than $120,000. In fact, he says it should be much higher than that. How much? Read on and find out.

He might be on to something here. The reason is simple economics and supply and demand. We know that there were about 2 million orders for the Cybertruck, and it is sold out until 2027.

We also know that almost 10,000 orders per day since the delivery event have been coming in, further showing the immense demand for the Cybertruck.

The Cybertruck is also a new technological wonder, utilizing all new technology, such as steer-by-wire, which allows all 4 wheels to be turned at once and with an algorithm to turn them at different rates depending on vehicle speed.

The steer-by-wire steers using the 48-volt architecture and not by attaching the steering wheel to the front wheels. Electrical signals sent through the wires through the wheels determines the steering.

The Cybertruck also has a bulletproof stainless steel exoskeleton. Lately, there have been some incredible wraps on display showing the Cybertruck's unique look beyond the stainless steel exoskeleton.

Cybertrucks are also going for $1,000 per day to rent on Turo, showing a high demand to even be used for one day.

What Should the Cybertruck Be Sold For?

Teslaconomics has this to say about the Tesla Cybertruck price:

Is the Tesla Cybertruck really worth over $120,000? No it’s not. In fact, it should be worth >$500,000 if Tesla actually allowed the market to determine its worth knowing it’s extremely supply limited & the preorder for it hovers over >2M

Now, that is quite a price, $500,000, for the Cybertruck! I don't think it would sell nearly as much at that price, however, I think Tesla could have made the price $150,000 and sold just as many Cyberbeast Foundation Series and the AWD Foundation Series at $125,000 and sold just as many.

Eventually, however, the price is going to have to come down if the masses are going to be able to afford the Cybertruck.

My hope is that we will eventually see the price for non-Foundation Series Cybertrucks like so:

  • Cyberbeast: $79,990
  • AWD (dual-motor): $64,990
  • Single motor: $54,990

I may be dreaming in order for this to happen. Still, my goal is to one day get a Cybertruck, and the dual-motor version is the one I want since it has the most range.

What do you think about the price of $500,000 for the Cybertruck? Is that a ridiculous price, and would anyone pay that? What price could Tesla sell the existing Foundation Series Cybertrucks for right now?

You are not wrong. High initial resale potential during the first year of production (If one does not mind potentially being legitimately sued by Tesla for 50K) is only due to there being enough wealthy Tesla die-hard fans (think cult-like) who have reserved it and plan to buy it, no matter what, without any real objective reviews. As you point out, we don't know what will happen with future pricing, and if Tesla drops the price, the value of the pre-owned Cybertrucks go right down with it.
