Joe Rogan Calls Bill Gates’ Tesla Short Position “Terrible Choice” After Test Driving Cybertruck in Giga Texas

Over the weekend, Joe Rogan revealed that he test-drove a pre-production Cybertrruck at Giga Texas. Rogan was effusive in his praise of the truck stating that he was impressed by the Cybertruck's design, size, and performance. Rogan also predicted the success of the Cybertruck and said Bill Gates was making "a horrible choice" shorting Tesla stock.

Since its debut in 2019, the Cybertruck has been the center of attention due to its unique triangle-shaped silhouette and stainless steel exoskeleton, setting it apart from traditional pickup trucks that have maintained the same boxy design for several decades.

Tesla's Cybertruck is a revolutionary electric pickup truck that marks the company's first venture into this market. Even before starting deliveries, the Cybertruck has already gained immense popularity garnering over 1.5 million reservations. The Cybertruck is designed to combine the utility of a truck with the performance of a sports car. It is built to be durable, versatile, and high-performance, both on-road and off-road, making it a game-changer in the electric pickup truck market.

The Cybertruck's body is constructed from 30X cold-rolled stainless steel, a material that is not commonly used in the automotive industry. This unique choice results in a visually striking vehicle that is incredibly durable and resistant to dents, scratches, and corrosion, making it perfect for off-road adventures. The Cybertruck's design is a significant departure from traditional pickup trucks, showcasing Tesla's commitment to innovation and willingness to take risks.

The Tesla Cybertruck is a pickup truck with impressive performance specifications. It has a range of up to 500 miles on a single charge, and it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 2.9 seconds. The Cybertruck is also equipped with an adaptive air suspension system that can adjust the ride height of the vehicle, making it ideal for off-road adventures. The interior of the Cybertruck features a minimalist design with a 17-inch touchscreen display and a panoramic roof that provides a clear view of the sky.

In addition to all these impressive features, since its unveiling in 2019, the Cybertruck has also seen several noteworthy changes and improvements. The production vehicle has been scaled down by 5% across the board and added new features such as four-wheel steering, 48-volt architecture, handless doors, and removable side view mirrors.

Given all the new features coming with the Cybertruck, anticipation for the vehicle has been through the roof. Although the Cyberturck has been significantly delayed from Tesla’s initial plans to begin production by the end of 2021, the vehicle nonetheless appears to finally be getting close to starting production with Elon Musk recently stating that he walked the Cybertruck production line for several hours on April 1st.

And at the company’s recently held Q1 2023 earnings call, Musk has also finally given a timeline as to when the Cybertruck will begin deliveries stating that Tesla will hold a delivery event at the end of Q3.

Tesla has been working on the production of the Cybertruck at Giga Texas, where the company has recently just installed a second 9000-ton Giga press. The 2 Giga Presses will be used to produce the Cybertruck's chassis while the vehicle’s ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel body will be shaped using more rudimentary machinery as it only requires a linear bend.

And as Tesla is making final tweaks before the start of production, Tesla's Cybertruck has been spotted undergoing wind tunnel testing at Giga Texas. As seen in a drone video shot by Brad Sloan and pictures independently posted on Reddit. The video shows the Cybertruck's giant single windshield wiper, affectionately referred to as the "Giga Wiper," in action. The prototype features a simple setup with a single arm mounted on a spindle in the bottom-left corner of the windscreen.

And amid this flurry of Cybertruck news, over the weekend Joe Rogan, the host of the popular podcast "The Joe Rogan Experience," recently revealed that he test-drove the Tesla Cybertruck at the Giga Texas factory.

Rogan was effusive in his praise of the truck stating that he was impressed by the Cybertruck's design, size, and performance. Rogan also called the Cybertruck the coolest car he had ever seen in his life. He also mentioned that the Cybertruck looked like it was a hundred years in the future and that the interior was gorgeous.

Rogan's reaction to the Cybertruck was overwhelmingly positive, to say the least. However, in addition to admiring the truck, Rogan also predicted that the Cybertruck will be a successful product for Tesla saying “When that thing comes out, you can’t make enough of these things, these things are going to be everywhere, everyone is going to have a bulletproof car.”

Rogan continued by saying “Bill Gates is making a terrible choice.” Rogan’s comment about Bill Gates is in reference to the $2 billion short position Gates’ has on Tesla. This short position was exposed last year following a text back and forth between Bill Gates and Elon Musk that was leaked to the New York Times.

And if you happen to be unfamiliar, shorting a stock is a legal way to bet that a company’s stock price will go down. This means Bill Gates has made huge bets that will make him a profit from Tesla’s downfall.

Currently, for those of us who can’t wait to see the Cybertruck out on the roads, Rogan’s reaction after test-driving the truck is incredible. And we will be sure to keep you posted as Tesla makes progress toward the launch of the Cybertruck.
