On January 7, 2015, Graham Sharp was driving his Subaru Impreza when he was involved in a horrific accident. He found new reasons to love his Impreza and he credits the Subaru compact car for saving his life. Listen in the video below as he retells the story of a blinding snowstorm, a chain reaction accident and a narrow escape.

Graham Sharp: Subaru Impreza owner

Graham was in a snowstorm and came upon an accident as he avoided two other cars and ended up hitting a gravel truck. After that impact, he was hit from behind by another truck and was crunched hard from both front and rear. Graham says, “To be honest, I thought that was it. It was the scariest thing I have ever been through.”

Graham wiggled his toes after realizing he was alive to make sure everything was still working and then climbed out the front windshield which had been ejected upon the second impact. He climbed out, and ran down the highway, glad to be alive.

Graham Sharp wanted to thank someone at Subaru and sent an email with a picture of the crumpled Subaru that said, This happened yesterday and I walked away. Who can I email to thank? I have my life because of this car. Listen to Graham describe how the Subaru Impreza responded when he got into trouble.

Graham’s life was spared as a result of Subaru engineers improving the already effective ring-shaped reinforcement frame used in all Subaru vehicles. Subaru's ring-shaped reinforcement frame has been used for more than a decade and has proven very effective. The Impreza Graham Sharp was driving along with all Subaru vehicles have been enhanced even more to provide better protection in the structure increasing cabin rigidity and absorbing impact energy from any direction. This is the design that gives the superior protection that enables all their vehicles to keep achieving top safety awards year after year. This Subaru Impreza saved Graham Sharp’s life.
