Which 3 Subarus Have Cooled Seats? They're Not The Most Popular Models

It's summer, and car cabins are scorching inside. Why are the 2022 Subaru Outback, 2022 Ascent, and 2022 Legacy the only Subaru models with cooled seats?

Subaru touts its customers taking long road trips this summer with the top-selling Forester and Crosstrek SUVs, but they aren't offered with cooled seats when the cabin gets scorching hot. Which Subaru models are the most comfortable in the summer and come with cooled or ventilated seats?

The feature is not just for high-end luxury cars any longer. Kia even offers cooled seats on its inexpensive $23,090 Forte EX sedan. Subaru only offers three models with cooled seats as a standard feature; the 2022 Subaru Outback, 2022 Ascent, and 2022 Legacy. Subaru doesn't offer them as an option on any other models.

Subaru models and trim levels with ventilated seats

The 2022 Subaru Outback Touring and Touring XT are the only Outback trim offering ventilated front seats. The Outback Touring price is $38,620; the Touring XT price is $41,070. Prices include destination and delivery fees.

The 2022 Subaru Onyx Edition does not come with ventilated seats

The 2022 Subaru Ascent Touring is the only Ascent trim offering ventilated front seats. It’s surprising Subaru doesn’t offer the feature on the new Ascent Onyx Edition. The price of the Ascent Touring is $46,570, including destination and delivery fees.

The 2022 Subaru Legacy Touring XT is the only Legacy trim offering ventilated front seats. The price of the Legacy Touring XT is $37,155, including destination and delivery fees.

Subaru of America has not announced the 2022 Subaru Forester and 2022 Subaru Crosstrek yet, but we would be surprised if either model comes with ventilated front seats. No Subaru model in its lineup offers cooled rear seats.

Subaru has sold more cars in cold weather climates like the Northeast, the Rocky Mountain states, and the Pacific Northwest. Subaru is gaining ground quickly in Florida, Texas, and other southern states. Subaru's largest volume dealer is in California.

It would be a smart move by Subaru to include its top-selling Forester and third best-selling Crosstrek in its list of all-wheel-drive vehicles with ventilated seats.

For now, the 2022 Subaru Outback, 2022 Ascent, and 2022 Legacy are the only Subaru models with cooled seats. All three models are manufactured in the U.S. at its Subaru of Indiana Automotive plant in Lafayette, Indiana.

Have a 2020 Subaru XT Touring with cooling seats . When in the highest mode there is a vibration in the fans on both sides (only in the high mode) Subaru knows about it but as of yet there is no fix yet

I totally agree that ventilated seats need to be much more available. Personally if I could choose for seats to have only heating or cooling, I would opt for cooling. You butt will warm up cold seats real quick. That same butt will never make a seat any cooler. After a long days work, it feels quite nice to drive home with the cheek chillers on. What ticks me off is that manufacturers that do offer ventilated seats only put them on the absolute highest trim. Look at the legacy. That car starts at like $26k. But if you want ventilated seats you have to add $11k worth of other crap that you probably dont want.
