The Subaru Outback Wilderness has three exclusive features unavailable on any other Wilderness Family model. Not the Forester Wilderness or the all-new Crosstrek Wilderness.

How much ground clearance do you need?

The Subaru Outback, Crosstrek, and Forester standard (non-Wilderness) models have 8.7 inches of ground clearance. The 2024 Subaru Outback midsize SUV Wilderness has the most at 9.5 inches of rock and stump-clearing ground clearance for outdoor enthusiasts.

It's more than any other Subaru Wilderness family model. The all-new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness subcompact SUV comes with 9.3 inches, and the Forester Wilderness has 9.2 inches go ground clearance.

Heated steering wheel

The Subaru Outback Wilderness gets a 360-degree heated steering wheel. It's now standard on the recently-updated 2024 Outback Wilderness trim level.

It's the Outback Wilderness upgrade customers have wanted for years. It could be the most significant improvement for the 2024 models. The Forester Wilderness and new Crosstrek Wilderness models do not have a heated steering wheel.

Outback Wilderness customers in colder climates will appreciate the added warmth of having the heat on their hands. U.S. customers won't need gloves when the temperature drops below freezing in the Northeast, Rocky Mountains, and the Northwest. They say, "Thank you, Subaru of America!"

2.4-liter turbocharged engine upgrade

The 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness is the only Wilderness family model that comes with a turbocharged engine. The 2.4-liter turbocharged engine produces 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.

The Forester Wilderness is powered by a normally-aspirated (non-turbo) engine producing 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. The Crosstrek Wilderness has a 2.5-liter normally-aspirated Boxer engine producing 182 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque.

What is the price of the 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness?

The 2024 Outback Wilderness costs $41,255, including destination and delivery fees. That's $6,010 more than Forester Wilderness and $7,965 more than Crosstrek Wilderness, but its upgrades are worth the extra cost if you need more power.

What is the price of the 2023 Subaru Forester Wilderness?

The 2023 Forester Wilderness has a lower starting price than the 2023 Outback Wilderness, starting at $35,245, including destination and delivery fees.

What is the price of the 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness?

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness will be the most expensive Crosstrek trim level. The all-new Crosstrek Wilderness costs $33,290, including dealer destination and delivery fees.

The three Subaru Wilderness family model features only found on the 2024 Outback Wilderness may be worth the extra cost. If you are trying to decide which model is the best for you, the three Outback Wilderness upgrades could be a difference maker.
