One 2023 Subaru Legacy Trim Gets A Huge Price Jump - The Complete Model Guide

Is the Subaru Legacy still a good value for midsize sedan shoppers? The 2023 Legacy has new upgrades, but one trim level gets a significant price increase. Check out the pricing and complete details here.

Subaru of America announced the newly-upgraded 2023 Subaru Legacy pricing, and like the refreshed 2023 Outback, all trim levels get a significant price increase over the outgoing model. One Legacy trim jumps over $4,000 in price. Are the upgrades worth the jump in price?

What is the price of the 2023 Subaru Legacy?

The 2023 Legacy sedan now comes in five trim levels. We have included the price increase on each trim after the new pricing. What's new for the 2023 model change?

Other new upgrades for 2023

The refreshed 2023 Subaru receives a new front fascia, a more prominent grille, and redesigned LED headlights. The big jump in price for the Sport trim is because it now comes standard with the 2.4-liter turbocharged engine. Subaru will drop the Limited XT trim level. A new wide-angle Mono Camera is added to the 2023 Legacy Touring XT trim level.

Is the 2023 Legacy a good value for midsize sedan shoppers?

What sets the Legacy apart from other sedans? All Legacy trim levels come standard with Subaru's Symmetrical all-wheel-drive for all-weather performance. The Legacy also gets the highest safety scores from the IIHS.

What trim is the best value?

The 2023 Subaru Legacy Premium and Limited trim levels are where many buyers will land and offer the best value with the smallest price increases. Unless you need the Sport and Touring XT's 2.4-liter turbocharged engine's extra power, you will pay around $7,000-$11,000 less for a comparably equipped 2.5i trim level.

With gas prices averaging $4.55 per gallon as of this report, the 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated engine in the Subaru Base and Premium trims is a good choice for commuters who don't need the extra power.

What is the 2023 Subaru Legacy fuel mileage?

The EPA says the Sport and Touring XT trims return an estimated 24 mpg city/32 mpg highway. The standard naturally aspirated 2.5-liter flat-4 engine gets an EPA estimated 27/35 mpg city/highway fuel economy.

Even with the price increase, the 2023 Subaru Legacy Premium and Limited trim levels still offer the best value for customers who want a sedan with all-weather performance and the highest safety scores. The upgraded Legacy midsize sedan will arrive in U.S. showrooms this fall.
