The Crosstrek is the fastest-selling subcompact SUV this year.

The Subaru Crosstrek is Subaru of America's number-one-selling vehicle in the all-wheel-drive lineup and the fastest-selling subcompact SUV in America. The all-new, redesigned 2024 Crosstrek arrived in July, and Subaru is selling them as fast as they come from the factory.

The Crosstrek is in such high demand in the U.S. that Subaru moved the manufacturing of the Crosstrek from Japan to Lafayette, Indiana, so that they could get the small SUV to customers sooner. The 2024 Crosstrek Premium, Limited, and the all-new Crosstrek Wilderness are now made at Subaru of Indiana Automotive.

Subaru Corporation waited another year to bring out the next-generation model because demand was so high. The Japanese automaker is selling them as fast as they can build them. As a result, the 2024 Forester is a carry-over model with no design changes.

Why are the Crosstrek and Forester in high demand?

The all-new Subaru Crosstrek and Subaru Forester have consistently ranked high for their standard all-wheel-drive, top safety crash scores, utility, fuel economy, and all-weather capability.

Now, Subaru offers two more hot Wilderness trim levels for the 2024 Forester compact SUV and 2024 Crosstrek subcompact SUV. Subaru says they don't know the ceiling for the new Wilderness family models.
