5 Things You’ll Love About The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, 3 You Won’t Like So Much

Should you buy the new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek? Here are five things you’ll love about the next-generation Crosstrek and a few things you won’t like so much.

If you can wait, the 2024 Crosstrek will be worth standing by. The Crosstrek gets a complete redesign from the ground up. It will come with improved ride quality, the next-generation EyeSight safety technology, new interior upgrades with more comfortable seats, and new exterior styling changes.

Here are the five things you’ll love about the next-generation 2024 Subaru Crosstrek and a few things you won’t like so much.

Subaru of America has just activated a new website for you to start your build. After choosing a trim level and options, check out the features and see how much the subcompact SUV will cost. Check it out here.

New power upgrade

It’s not a significant power upgrade, but Subaru of America announced the 2024 Crosstrek Sport, and Limited with the 2.5-liter gets a small bump in torque. The previous model had 182 horsepower and 176 lb. -ft. of torque. The 2024 Crosstrek now has 182 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2.0-liter engine stays with 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque.

The 2024 Crosstrek stays with 8.7 inches of ground clearance, X-Mode, and dual function X-Mode for all-weather and all-terrain performance.

Two Crosstrek trims are now made in the U.S.

U.S. customers will get two Crosstrek trim levels sooner because they aren’t shipped from Japan. The 2024 Crosstrek Sport and Limited will now be produced in the U.S. for the first time in Lafayette, Indiana, and will not take as long if you order one. The new 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness will also be built in America.

2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness

A new 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness arrives this year.

The most rugged and trail-capable Crosstrek Wilderness will be available this year with an upgraded suspension, all-terrain tires, more prominent wheel arch cladding, a metal front skid plate, unique hex-design LED fog lights, and anti-glare hood decal in a matte-black finish. Check out the new Wilderness report here.

Crosstrek comes with the next-gen EyeSight safety technology.

The new 2024 Crosstrek will now come with the latest generation EyeSight driver assist technology, and Driver Monitoring System called Driver Focus to offer another level of safety and help reduce the chance of accidents.

The 2024 Crosstrek remains affordable.

The 2024 Crosstrek Base has a starting price of $26,290 (the same MSRP as the 2023 Base model equipped with the Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission). The 2024 Crosstrek Premium has a starting price of $27,440, Sport ($30,290), and Limited ($32,190). Pricing includes destination and delivery fees ($1,225).

The all-new 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness costs $33,290, including dealer destination and delivery fees.

Three things you won’t like so much about the 2024 Crosstrek.

Subaru dropped the Crosstrek manual transmission.

Another significant change is Subaru will drop the 6-speed manual gearbox in the next-generation 2024 Crosstrek. Instead, all 2024 Crosstrek trim levels will come with a Lineartronic Continually Variable automatic Transmission (CVT). Subaru dropped the fully synchronized 6-speed manual gearbox in the next-generation model so that all trim levels can be equipped with EyeSight safety technology.

You may wait longer for the Base and Premium trim levels.

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Base and Premium trims will be made in Japan, not the U.S. plants like Sport, Limited, and Wilderness trims. The Base and Premium trim leave will take longer to arrive for U.S. customers.

The new Crosstrek Wilderness won’t arrive until this fall.

The bad news is the all-new outdoor-themed 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness will arrive later this fall, and the wait could be longer because demand will be high for the new model. However, if you can wait, the Crosstrek Wilderness will get significant upgrades over the standard model. Check out the new Crosstrek Wilderness Vs. Forester Wilderness report below.
