There is good news for the 2020 Subaru Impreza sedan and 5-door hatch. They both still come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. New for the 2020 model change, all CVT automatic transmission cars now come standard with EyeSight driver assist safety technology which is also good news.

Also new for 2020 is the available Rear Seat Reminder, which is designed to help prevent child and/or pet entrapment by alerting the driver to check the rear seat before exiting the vehicle. It’s also available on the new 2020 Forester and Ascent models. The 2020 Impreza is still offered in four trim levels, Base, Premium, Sport and Limited.

New 2020 Subaru Impreza Ocean Blue Pearl

This is the fourth year of Impreza's model cycle since the fifth-generation model was introduced in 2017. It’s the first Impreza manufactured at Subaru's U.S. plant in Indiana.

The Impreza exterior gets refreshed with an updated front bumper cover and grille design, and the rear combination light design has been updated for 5-door models. Subaru Impreza can now be ordered with a new Ocean Blue Pearl exterior color seen above.

EyeSight driver assist will be standard equipment on all trims and features an advanced function that assists accelerator, brake, and steering operations in a wider range of vehicle speeds. The safety system will recognize both the lane markings and the vehicle ahead and will reduce driver fatigue when the Impreza is on the highway and in traffic jams with stop-and-go driving.

The Impreza has slick looks but is lacking in the powertrain department. Both the Corolla and the Civic with their optional engines are quite a bit faster than the Impreza. Too bad the Impreza offers no more power, especially with the AWD that could really use it.
