The Sublime 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack shown here recently ran a 10.21 quarter mile with a manual transmission, making it the quickest manually-shifted Scat Pack in the world – and today we bring you the details and a look at the record-setting run.

I write about a great many track records here on TorqueNews with varying classifications and today, I bring you the quickest modern Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack with a manual transmission. I little over a year ago, we talked about the Scat Pack of Jesse Rose, which set the record for the quickest Scat Pack with a manual transmission. That car ran a 10.409 at 142 miles per hour, but record was recently broken by Seth Harris and his Sublime Challenger.

After Harris reached out to me, offering up a timeslip, video and details on the car, I spoke with a few experts in the world of Scat Pack cars, including Jesse Rose, and confirmed that this is the quickest time turned in by a manual transmission car. If you are reading this and you have a quicker manual transmission Scat Pack, hit me up on Facebook, but until I see proof of the contrary, this is the quickest modern Dodge Challenger Scat Pack with a manual transmission.

The Build
This Sublime 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack is owned and driven by Seth Harris, with the build being performed by his son Cyle. The 392-cubic inch Hemi is fitted with MMX drop-in connecting rods and pistons, a 2.9-liter Gen3 Whipple supercharger fitted with a 3.25-inch pulley, a 102mm throttle body and an 8-rib belt drive system from OST Dyno. The car is tuned for the track to run on E90 alcohol blend with around 22 pounds of boost by Mike Doban at OST Dyno.

The power from that blown Hemi is sent to the rear wheels by means of a TR6060 manual transmission from Tick Performance, fitted with an ACE triple disk clutch setup. Out back, there is a G-Force 9-inch rear differential and a 15-inch rear wheel conversion.

Seth Harris explains that with the help of his son and his dad, this was a family build that took around two years. Harris praises Mike Doban from OST Dyno for “amazing job tuning the car and also getting rid of the Notorious Whipple boost transition issues” and he points out that there is more power to be had, as a 2.75-inch pulley would increase the boost to 26 pounds, leading to even quicker quarter mile times in the future.

The Record Run
In the video below, we watch Seth Harris rocket down the track in his manually-shifted Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack and set the world record for similar cars. The Challenger pulls a 1.483 60-foot time as Harris rips it out of the hole, pulling the front wheels off of the ground and dancing around a bit as he grabs second gear, but he stays into it and stops the top end timers with a 10.211 at 141.13 miles per hour.

In addition to running well, this Scat Pack sounds incredible launching on the two-step, so when watching the video below, make sure to crank up your speakers.

I have a 392 Daytona and as much as I'd love doing this in the future, I've heard time and time again that these motors simply don't put up with the boost. Which is why the hell cats have a smaller bore and leave more metal to prevent cracking. Rebuilding with good components is a must, but last I checked, putting anything more than a pro-charger on them just starts a ticking time bomb.

I mean, I could be/ would love to be wrong. But I'd sooner replace the block.
