How to Get Your 2020 Toyota Highlander with Huge 12.3-inch Multimedia Screen

One of the highlighted features for the 2020 Highlander is a gigantic multimedia touch screen. Here is how you can get it.

There are many things to like about the all-new fourth generation 2020 Toyota Highlander. You may be drawn to its sleek, modern and sophisticated exterior styling. Perhaps you are looking at the improved gas mileage for all trim levels. I mean, it does average up to 24mpg combined for gasoline and 36mpg for hybrid.

For those who like technology and connectivity features, you will find this redesigned 2020 Highlander is most definitely not the same one you are used to seeing in the past. Toyota was determined to ensure its place as a technological leader with this latest Highlander entry.

Prospective buyers should enjoy the ability to use across-the-board Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Waze navigation and SiriusXM. Also, Smart Key push button start is standard on every trim level. Passengers will have 5 standard USB ports to connect and charge their devices.

One of the improvements that people may appreciate most is the use of larger multimedia touch screens. Based on the trim level you choose, you will be able to use audio, phone and navigation functions on either 8-inch or 12.3-inch screens.

A Highlander with a 12-inch screen? Wow.

Standard 2020 Highlander 12.3-inch screens

First off, let’s look at trim levels. In gasoline models 2020 Highlander is offered in L, LE, XLE, Limited and Platinum. The 2020 Highlander Hybrid has LE, XLE. Limited and Platinum.

Expect standard 8-inch multimedia touch screens on the L, LE, XLE, Limited, Hybrid LE, Hybrid XLE and Hybrid Limited grades.

Upgrade to standard 12.3-inch touch screens by purchasing Platinum and Hybrid Platinum trim levels. On each vehicle’s window sticker, look for Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation and JBL to confirm.

JBL audio should be rocking in the 2020 Highlander Hybrid Platinum and Platinum gas versions, as it features 11 total speakers, including subwoofer and a 1200-watt amplifier. You can get JBL audio standard on Highlander Limited and Hybrid Limited as well, but keep in mind it will have 8-inch multimedia screens instead.

How to get 12.3-inch screens on other 2020 Highlander levels

There are ways to get this huge touch screen even if you do not plan on buying the Platinum. You can add this 12.3-inch multimedia system as an option upgrade on the 2020 Highlander Limited and Hybrid Limited trim levels. This upgrade package includes the larger screen and Bird’s Eye View camera system.

Does the new Highlander Hybrid have the interactive conversation between the front seats and the third row seats?
Does it come with remote start?

I just purchased a Limited gas model instead of waiting for hybrid. I live in a rural area and did not believe I need a hybrid when 90% of my driving is on country roads with no stop lights. Salesman tried to get me to purchase a 2019 hybrid but I like the body style of the 2020 Highlander much better. So far, love the car!
