How to Get LED Lights in your 2020 Toyota Tacoma

Each year more vehicle buyers are requiring LED lights for their new vehicles. Find how to get them in your new 2020 Tacoma.

The use of LED headlights and accent lights is becoming more and more common each year. They not only look good, but also have many important benefits.

LED lights shine brighter and further than traditional halogen bulbs, allowing drivers to have greater visibility both on and off the road. This may assist in spotting potential hazards, like pedestrians or even deer, at night.

They also last longer, providing a lower cost to owners over time. Then there is the aesthetic aspect. Many people feel their cars, trucks and SUVs look sharper than those with halogens.

LED and the 2020 Tacoma

This was not supposed to be part of the story, but when I just wrote the headline it reminded me of the popular song by Naughty by Nature, “You’re down with L-E-D yeah you know me”. Now back to the topic at hand.

Toyota has upgraded its 2020 Tacoma with important updates, upgrades, improvements and additions. One of these areas is with the availability of LED lighting on some of the more popular 2020 Tacoma trim levels.

People interested in purchasing a TRD Sport or TRD Off-Road will be pleased they can now get LED lighting on their trucks. It will be available as a factory option. Both TRD Off-Road and Sport come standard with projector-beam headlights with LED daytime running lights and integrated wide-angle fog lights. You can upgrade by choosing the option “LED headlights with daytime running lights and black bezel LED fog lights” when you buy your truck.

The 2020 Tacoma Limited has standard LED headlights with LED daytime running lights and black bezel LED fog lights. Since this is the top of the line luxury trim, many buyers would expect this as standard equipment regardless. They will be pleased.

Perhaps the trim level with the most LED offerings is the 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro. It has factory-installed LED headlights, sequential LED turn signal indicators, black sport bezels and LED daytime running lights. This comprehensive LED package also includes Rigid Industries LED fog lights.

Although many people prefer LED lights and request them on new vehicle purchases, there are also some who prefer traditional headlights. What side of the fence are you on – LED or halogen? Will you be in the market for a new or pre-owned Tacoma anytime in the near future?

I purchased a 2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road WITHOUT the LED headlights. I got the option that includes the DRLs and fog lights. As well as the tech package which includes the BSM and Parking sensor. I was wondering if it is possible to replace the halogen with the OEM LED headlights.
Are the connectors the same and is it possible to make the sequential turning signals work? Does it fit in the same housing or is it too large? Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Hi, you can't if you have factory headlights with LED you can buy a harness and buy the 2020 LED headlights (which is a single plug headlight) the harness is plug and play. BUT if you have an all halogen headight including the DLR (amber) such as those found in SR/SR5 models you won't be able to install it even with the harness. I'm telling you from experience, I bought those LED headlights for my 2020 Tacoma SR5 and now I can't find the conversion harness anywhere so I'm avoiding the dark of night until I find this harness.

Hello, I have a 2020 Tacoma Sr trim with SX Package, 4x4 4cyl. auto. with standard Halogen projector headlights. My Truck does not have Fog Lights, did not want them any way. My big question, I want to know, are there LED Bulbs available for the Turn/ Park/ DRL's ( combination halogen bulb presently in place) ? Tank you. P.S. I just added LED backup light Bulbs, and WOW are they great! Also LED Low Beams on order as well.
