Having Trouble Finding Lunar Rock 4Runner? You May Be in Luck for 2022

Toyota 4Runner fans: your search for Lunar Rock just got much easier for 2022.

One of the most interesting parts about covering Toyota is the unveiling of the unique TRD Pro color each year.

Fans of Toyota 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra and Sequoia TRD Pro are given one special, sometimes exclusive, color for each model year.

This year, the chosen color was Lunar Rock. For 2022, it is Electric Lime Metallic / Lime Rush.

4Runner TRD Pro is typically challenging to find and purchase due to high consumer demand and lower supply (than other 4Runner trim levels).

This is especially true for fans looking for a 2021 Lunar Rock Toyota 4Runner.

One of the hardest tickets in town to get is a 2021 4Runner TRD Pro. Especially if you are trying to land one in Lunar Rock color.

Other 2021 TRD Pro color options are Super White, Midnight Black Metallic and Magnetic Gray Metallic.

Dealers from coast to coast have potential customers on waiting lists – sometimes incredibly long waiting lists – hoping to score one of these prized machines.

The issue many buyers are facing is that 2021 Toyota 4Runner is approaching the end of its production run. Soon, 2022 4Runner SUVs will be rolling off the lines and hitting dealership lots.

Lunar Rock will be replaced by an eye-catching lime for 2022 (4 colors available for 2022 4Runner TRD Pro).

So where does this leave 4Runner Lunar Rock fans?

Great news 2022 4Runner fans. Although you will not be able to buy a 2022 Toyota 4Runner in Lunar Rock, you can find it elsewhere.

Lunar Rock will be available for 2022 model year in several other popular grades.

Look for Lunar Rock in 4Runner TRD Off-Road, 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium, 4Runner TRD Sport and 4Runner Trail Edition.

This distribution of Lunar Rock should benefit both Toyota and consumers for a few reasons.

First, this makes things easier for people wanting this green-gray-cement color to get one.

Next, some people are waiting to buy Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro mainly due to the Lunar Rock color. Well, for 2022 those people on lists may choose to instead switch to a different trim level in Lunar.

This may free up the list of people waiting for TRD Pro at least a little.

And with the ongoing vehicle shortage, any help is welcome help.

Time for your Toyota 4Runner comments

Everyone likes having choices, right? Well for 2022 Toyota 4Runner fans, you should have plenty to choose from.

I'm curious to see how Lunar Rock will look with the silver valances and wheels that come on the TRD OR. Will clash, I think. The black wheels and trim is a must for Lunar Rock. Maybe they dropped the Venture edition because they plan to include the black valances on more trim models by default?

As an owner or a TRD Pro 4Runner in Lunar Rock I don’t like the news one bit. Ordered a 22 in Lime Rush because if all the news is correct 22 will be the last year of the 5th gen and even if they offer it on the redesigned model mine will be unique as the only year that color is available on that body style. Now watch them push the 6th gen back another year and do the same thing to Lime Rush they did with Lunar Rock
