The debate has been raging for months. What will the exclusive TRD Pro color be for 2022 4Runner, 2022 Tacoma and 2022 Tundra?
And it is a great discussion topic. Most of us who love and follow Toyota trucks and SUVs wait for the final decision on what this color will be.

Personally, I was hoping to see a Yellow or Black Cherry 4Runner TRD Pro. I will not be getting my wish this year. Maybe next year.
We pretty much know this to be true anyway, since 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro will be offered in Electric Lime Metallic.
Previous 4Runner TRD Pro colors
Typically, a Toyota TRD Pro color will be bright, colorful, and shocking. It needs to stand out and draw attention.
We have seen Inferno Orange, Cavalry Blue, Voodoo Blue and Army Green in past years.
But 4Runner TRD Pro could also be neutral and tough looking. Like Quicksand, Cement and Lunar Rock. I guess Lunar Rock could fall into both the colorful and neutral categories.
When will we see a 2022 4Runner, though?

Expect the first 2022 4Runner SUVs to reach Toyota dealerships for retail sale around September to October time frame.
Normally, new model year inventory trickles in slowly and then ramps up in the following months. However, with the current computer chip and vehicle shortage, it is difficult to say what to expect.

Actually, I would expect the best thing for people interested in buying a 2022 Toyota 4Runner to do is to pre-order one. Then just sit back and wait for yours to come in when it arrives.
Less stress that way.
2022 4Runner TRD Pro
Since Toyota 4Runner is expected to start arriving within a couple months, it might also be a good idea to start planning for the perfect 4Runner.
4Runner TRD Pro will offer a few familiar colors for 2022 model year. Look for Super White, Magnetic Gray Metallic and Midnight Black Metallic.
Some version of Lime will be the fourth color option.
I have heard from enough sources within Toyota circles to know we should expect a 2022 4Runner TRD Pro in Lime.
No word yet on whether it will be called Electric Lime Metallic, which is the same name given to 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro. Lime Rush has been thrown around too. But Electric Lime makes sense – it should match Tacoma.
Time for your Toyota 4Runner comments
As I mentioned above, there has been much debate back and forth over what exclusive TRD Pro color to expect for 2022. I thought for months that Yellow would be selected. Other media outlets thought the same.
I would probably count on Lime.
What do you think about a Lime Toyota 4Runner this year? Do you think it will look better in 4Runner or in Tacoma?
Will 2022 Tundra follow suit and join the Lime gang? We have already seen an Orange-Red 2022 Tundra TRD Pro reveal, of sorts. Could Tundra have two exclusive colors?

Sorry Jeff, but I'm keeping what I have, a 2020 TRD ORD. It is paid for, suites my needs and the Lime color is something that most will not want to live with for long. I'm with you, Yellow or a Black Cherry would have been a better color choice. I still have hopes for a basic 2-door FJ Cruiser based off the original design to return to the US to compete against the Willy's Jeep option and the new never to be built / sold 2 door Bronco.

I just wish I could order a 2022 ORP but no dealership around me will let me even place a preorder.
I do have some specific options that I want (KDSS and the dash cam) so maybe that's the problem?
I also wish that a trim level other than Limited would get the memory seats as my wife is over a foot shorter than me.

Will be in the market for a 4Runner when the 2022's come out.
I was really, really hoping for Radiant Red or Black Cherry.
Probably going to settle for Magnetic Gray now.

Not to be prudish, but lime green has never sold well, and would definitely downgrade the 4Runner's TRD Pro image. If I can't get a 2022 TRD Pro in Lunar Rock, I'll let the wife pick the color and repaint it in a few years... Electric green and baby poop yellow??? Yeah, hard pass for me...

You are spot on. We are a Toyota family. 36 in Toyota's in family, from Landcruiser, Tundra's (9), 4 Runners, and Sequoias. We are ready to buy the wives new Sequoias. Only choices in colors are a ugly purple, terrible blue and the standard black, white and metallic silvers. The wives are sick of seeing black and white and silver/gray vehicles. Tundra choices are even worse. Our wives are not buying any of these colors.

A Black Cherry TRD Pro 4Runner would be my absolute dream vehicle! If I'm lucky I'll be able to get a 4Runner in a year or two, wishing and hoping they make a Black cherry color choice option by then!
