Tesla Offering $7,500 Off Model S and Model X Until the End of the Year

Tesla is now offering $7,500 off of Model S and Model X vehicles until the end of the year, 2022.

Tesla Discount Extended to Model S and Model X

We see a Tweet thread from Whole Mars Catalog saying that he got a $7,500 discount + a $5,000 showroom model discount when buying a Tesla Model S. He also states that you will get this $7,500 discount when buying any Tesla Model S or Model X.

We see this discount, of $7,500 on the Tesla website and the 10,000 Supercharger miles discount. This appears to be legit!

A short while ago, Tesla offered this $7,500 discount on the Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in order to clear out existing inventory, so it makes sense that Tesla would now do this for their Model S and Model X vehicles.

Tesla has yet to update their website if this is indeed true. Tesla's inventory is mostly Model S and Model X vehicles, so Tesla discounting these would help to reduce their inventory to practically nothing by the end of the year - in 2 days.

It also appears this discount is good for Canada:

Will There Be Any More Discounts?

Tesla has a list of used inventory, which you can customize by ZIP code. There are 2022 Model S and Model X vehicles listed there.

What's interesting about these used vehicles with just a few hundred miles on them is that they are discounted from the regular price of a regular Model S. The vehicles in the link I posted are around $97,000, while new long range Model S vehicles are around $105,000 to $107,000. This does indeed look like there might be a discount on these models, which are just a hair under being new.

I don't think Tesla is going to do anymore discounts before the end of the year. There's just 2 days left. But I do think that Tesla is trying to clear out its inventory and get ready for a busy 2023, which will have tax credits from the I.R.A. in the U.S.

We'll keep an eye on this and see if Tesla updates its website for this, or if it is just for select ZIP codes. And now we see that Tesla has indeed updated their website. The discount is in the U.S. and Canada at least.

What do you think of Tesla offering a discount on the Model S and Model X? Will it show up on Tesla's website, or is it just some of the existing models that are being discounted?
