DIY Repairs
While car owners are encouraged to wrench some repairs and maintenance on their vehicles, there are those little things that comes with experience that only trained and experienced mechanics are aware of that can make the difference between success and failure.
As an example, here’s what one Ford repair expert has to say after working on a 2010 Ford F-150 with an AC problem related to an electrical problem in which the owner had used an aftermarket part in a previous attempt at a DIY repair.
The repair described involves replacing a failing AC system fan speed controller module to solve an air flow problem from the HVAC system. However, choosing an aftermarket module proved to cause even more problems including dash control panel glitches.

Sad…using a Subaru engine bay on a Ford article. That would get you flogged by the UAW in Detroit. That said, F-150’s are notorious for weird electrical issues stemming from water infiltration of electrical connectors along the firewall, not to mention water sitting in spark plug wells.
