WRX Meets The Outback - Subaru Reveals The All-New Layback

What would the Subaru WRX look like if it met the Outback midsize SUV? Subaru Corporation revealed the 2024 Levorg Layback. Check out the new Japanese model.

Subaru recently teased the all-new Levorg Layback and finally revealed the new model. It's a WRX Sportwagon that meets the Outback midsize SUV. Unfortunately, it's only for Japanese customers and will not be available in the U.S. market.

The Japanese-specification 2024 Subaru  Levorg Layback gets new upgrades to make it off-road friendly. The new Sportwagon gets rugged looks and an off-road-tuned chassis, but unfortunately, it's not for North America.

While the new Levorg Layback would be an appealing new model for Subaru of America's all-wheel-drive lineup, don't look for the Outback-themed Levorg to be sold outside Japan. It's only for Japanese customers.

The new images show that the Levorg Layback will feature a new front facia and bumper, a wider grille, and a new aluminum-style crossbar that runs between the LED headlights.

Revised intakes and new alloy wheels have also been introduced. Still, the most significant change is the increased ride height and new Levorg Layback with black plastic wheel-arch cladding, indicating additional scratch protection when traveling off-road.

Inside the cabin, the new Levorg Layback will come with two-tone leather seats with gold stitching throughout. The 2024 Levorg Layback will come with Subaru's Symmetrical all-wheel drive, mated with a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine in Japan and Lineartronic CVT transmission.

The new 2024 Subaru Levorg Layback won't be sold in the U.S., but North American customers want a WRX hatchback with rugged performance upgrades. Stay tuned.

The Levorg is the replacement for the Legacy/Liberty wagon. Too bad we don't get it North America. It's supposed to be much sportier than the current SUV Legacy/Outback we currently get.
