Why You Should Buy The Last 4th Generation Subaru STI Now

The 4th generation 2021 Subaru WRX STI just got a lot more valuable. If you can find one, you should buy it now.

Is the 2021 Subaru WRX STI a good value right now? Subaru of America has sold out of the last 2021 WRX STI performance sedans, and it's gone forever. If you are thinking of buying an STI, now is the time to get one because the cost of the last-generation STI is about to go up, and it will increase in value overnight.

In March, Subaru of America reported only 31 WRX and WRX STI sales for the entire U.S. market, and likely the last 2021 models. The largest Subaru distributor in America, Subaru of New England, shows they have no 2021 WRX or WRX STI models. The last turbocharged STI with a Boxer engine will be a sought-after model.

Because new models are gone from retailers, the best way to buy a 2021 WRX STI now will be to find someone who lost their job, has a family change, or needs to get out of their lease payment. A low mileage STI will jump in value and could become a collector car and rank among the best investments.

Subaru of America said they would no longer produce the WRX STI with a gas engine earlier this month. It's about to jump in value because the last-generation Subaru STI with a turbocharged Boxer engine rolled off the assembly lines in Gunma, Japan.

Subaru of America sold thousands of 2021 WRX STIs last year and at the beginning of 2022. There will be a few previously owned models for sale across North America, and it will be worth the investment if you wait for the right deal.

Will the 2021 Subaru WRX go up in value as well?

The 2021 Subaru WRX will not be sought after like the 2021 STI. Performance enthusiasts can still buy the next-generation 2022 WRX, and the fourth-generation model will still retain its value, but not like the STI.

What was the price of the 2021 Subaru WRX STI?

The 2021 WRX STI in base trim started at $38,170, and WRX STI Limited with Wing or low profile trunk spoiler was priced from $42,870. Pricing includes destination and delivery ($925). How much will the 2021 STI go up in value? No one knows, but they will jump.

The 2021 Subaru WRX STI will become a rare performance car like the Mitsubishi EVO when it was discontinued. Our recommendation would be to buy one now before the value skyrockets.

Guess I'll spend the money I saved for a 2023 STI will go somewhere else. Subaru is going to lose a lot of customers over this brainless decision. I'll never buy a CVT.

Don't forget about the "manual shifting for EVs" patent that Subaru filed. That's pretty telling in that they are trying to recreate the current STI experience in an EV.
