The 10 Most Awarded Car Brands in 2021

KBB’s most awarded car brands from first to 10th are Toyota, Hyundai, Ford, Kia, Honda, Subaru, Jeep, Lexus, Mazda, and Nissan.

KBB says the Subaru is the sixth most awarded car brand in 2021. Subaru’s lineup includes the 2022 Forester compact SUV, Outback midsize SUV/crossover, Crosstrek subcompact SUV, Ascent 3-Row SUV, Impreza compact sedan, and hatchback, Legacy sedan, WRX, and WRX STI performance cars, and the BRZ sports coupe. The 2023 Subaru Solterra all-electric SUV arrives mid-2022.

KBB says, “Known for being a more rugged option that’s ideal for those who have active lifestyles, Subaru is strong on reliability and resale value. The Impreza, Crosstrek, Forester, and Outback received the Best Resale Value award. The Forester, Outback, and 3-row Ascent received 5-Year Cost to Own Awards. The upcoming Solterra electric SUV even made an appearance as one of the 10 Best SUVs Worth Waiting For and is due to go on sale in 2022.”

Why is Subaru different from other automakers’ cars and SUVs?

Subaru uses a Boxer engine design which sits low in the chassis, which gives its SUV a lower center of gravity. This contributes to improved driving dynamics and better balance when making sudden turns.

All Subaru vehicles except one (BRZ rear-drive Sports Coupe) come standard with their Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system. This sets their cars apart and gives them the all-weather capability and a go-anywhere attitude. The Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and Ascent also come with X-Model for additional all-terrain capability.

Subaru’s SUVs have higher ground clearance than other automaker’s models, with the 2022 Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and Ascent coming with 8-7-inches of ride height. This gives drivers a better view of the road and the ability to navigate more extreme terrain.

Kelly Blue Book says the 2022 Subaru Outback is the tenth most awarded new car in 2021, and Subaru of America is the sixth most awarded car brand in America. Check out Subaru’s electrification plans in the link below.
