All-New Next-Generation Subaru Impreza Takes Off Like A Rocket

The new 2024 Subaru Impreza is off to a fast start. The previous generation 2023 Impreza is out, and the new 2024 Impreza hatchback is in. Check out its impressive performance.

The all-new next-generation 2024 Subaru Impreza is shot out of the launching pad like a rocket. The Impreza hatchback is an important new launch for Subaru of America (SOA), proving to be a hot new compact car.

A few 2023 models may be left on retailers' lots, but the remodeled 2024 Impreza arrives now. Subaru of America reports that Impreza had 2,954 sales in June compared with 2,124 compact models delivered to U.S. customers in June 2022. That's an increase of 39.1 percent. It was the highest growth percentage of any Subaru carline except for last month's BRZ and WRX sports cars.

2024 Subaru Impreza is at retailers now

Even more impressive is that Impreza has 19,291 models sold in the first six months of 2023 compared with 14,326 for 2022. That's a 34.7 percent sales increase year to date over last year's sales. By comparison, the hot Crosstrek is up 8.7 percent, Outback is up 5.3 percent, and Forester is up 20.4 percent for the first six months of the year.

Is the 2023 Impreza still available?

A few previous-generation Impreza models may be left, but you should wait for the 2024 Impreza. The Impreza compact hatch finally gets a complete makeover.

2924 Subaru Impreza RS will be a hot model

Several new Impreza upgrades are coming. The all-new sixth-generation Subaru Impreza compact car gets high-tech upgrades, new features, and a restyled exterior design. The Impreza hatch will have improved ride quality, advanced safety technology, fuel mileage, and new tech.

Unfortunately, Subaru dropped the 5-speed manual gearbox from the entire Impreza lineup for 2024. But all trims now come standard with Subaru's EyeSight suite of safety technology.

Subaru of America chose to drop the Impreza sedan, which was a smart move. Instead, the hatchback body style offers the utility and efficiency small car shoppers are looking for in a compact vehicle.

A new 2.5-liter engine

The most significant improvement for the 2024 Impreza will be the new Impreza RS trim level, which gets a new 2.5-liter engine upgrade. The RS will be the model that breathes new life into the all-wheel-drive compact car. When Subaru of America offered the 2.5-liter engine in the Crosstrek subcompact SUV, sales shot through the roof. Expect the same positive results for the hot Impreza RS hatch.

What is the price of the 2024 Subaru Impreza?

The 2024 Subaru Impreza Base hatchback starts at $24,085, the Sport hatch starts at $26,085, and the all-new RS hatch with the 2.5-liter Boxer engine starts at $28,975. Pricing includes destination and delivery fees ($1,090).

The new sixth-generation 2024 Impreza hatchback arrives now at U.S. retailers, just in time for summer. However, customers should know that the new Impreza is now manufactured in Japan rather than the U.S. factory. As a result, it could take longer for new models to arrive than before.

In the first six months of the year, the Subaru Impreza had an impressive sales increase, partly due to the next-generation models jumping out fast.
