Toyota White Blizzard Pearl Support Program Phase 1 Notification
Toyota began notifying owners last year in the fall. The owners of Toyotas with white or blizzard pearl paint received a letter notifying them of the upcoming support.

Phase 2 - Repair
Toyota's second phase will consist of a repair made by your local dealer at no cost to you. Any authorized Toyota Dealership can determine if a condition is covered by this Customer Support Program, not just the one from which the vehicle was purchased.

Contact your dealer if you have an affected vehicle. They will tell you the schedule and plan for repairs to your vehicle. Those owners who wish to have direct contact with Toyota on this issue can call the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-888-270-9371 Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Did you ever get a response on your question? I have the same issue. I have the recall notice on my 2012 Camry Hybrid, but the surface on my car is chalky, not peeling. Obvious 1 stage paint issues. Trying to determine if this is covered by the recall.

Per Toyota customer care my Toyota 4Runner does qualify. A dealership finally called me yesterday. I have an appt Tuesday where they are going to look at it, take pictures and if they determine i qualify, they said they will right an estimate, send to Toyota & wait to be paid before scheduling a paint job. Will see how this plays out.

I have a 2015 Toyota corolla, super white that is also peeling in many places all over my car. Especially the roof & hood. I've called over 10 times to the Toyota cares line, had only 2 call backs from a dealership. And all they day is they are booked until whenever & that is if. Also have a safety recall I've beg trying to have done for almost a year now... this is getting ridiculous & I'm the original owner.

We have a 2011 Highlander- Paint bubbled and now pealed, leaving the a very large exposed area. The highlander has not been listed as being covered by the ZKG Program

We have a 2013 Highlander Blizzard Pearl that the paint is peeling around the front windshield. Told Toyota Dealer about it. They said they could not do anything about it until Highlander model came out on the list of vehicles. The vehicle models are not the problem. The problem is the Blizzard Pearl paint peeling regardless of the vehicle model.

I have a 2013 Highlander, as well. The paint on the roof is coming off in big chunks, as well as, around the front windshield. My local Toyota dealer is telling me the same thing “Highlanders” are not covered. According to the service manager, it’s because they don’t sell as many Highlanders. Not sure what that has to do with it. Corporate says that they rely on the local dealerships to be corporate’s “eyes & ears” out there and they can over ride corporates decision. Of course, the dealership says they have NO say in making the decision. In the meantime, we are all driving around in cars where the paint just falls off of our cars. FYI - the estimate to repaint the roof and front right bumper on my Highlander…….$5000 !!!

We have a 2015 Highlander. The paint is bubbling up and peeling off the lift gate, top of roof.and other areas like next to windshield is starting to peel. I was told to take it to the dealership. There they took pictures to document the peeling. It's ironic there is a Clear Paint Protection sticker on our windshield. It was explained that the paint is deteriorating from the inside out. I wish other Highlander owners with the recalled white paint from other models would call in and report this to Toyota. I call every couple of months.

It's a joke. I have a 2013 Prius 3 Persona Series.....i believe it was the only way to get that nice blizzard pearl (070) with the hint of luxury. Called Toyota today and they said there was no recall although my car has had the issue, and now paint is bubbling up at the bottom edge of the trunk hatch. I also have a Sienna same age and wax and detail these vehicles in the same fashion. No issues with the Sienna which by the way is NOT blizzard pearl. The hood of the Sienna has some road debris chips but never had the paint peel back more and more as moisture got underneath it the way the Prius has.....Toyota says the car is not on the list and I need to take it to the dealer for an "assessment". Funny thing is the dealers did not build the vehicle....it was built in Japan. How the heck can the dealer assess if the issue was during the manufacturing process? Ugh.

Mine has peeled down to the metal. I called the corporate Toyota and they told me Highlanders aren't covered under the warranty. Was hoping someone could tell me what to do or how to start a law suit so it would be included in warranty.

I called Toyota Corp today and CS told me that they need more people with Highlanders having the same problem to get it checked out at the dealers and noted in the system in order for Highlanders to be included with the Paint Warranty. Hopefully more people can be more active in this manner.

Our 2016 Highlander has also started peeling on the roof. Only has 53,000.00 miles!!! AND I bought and extended warranty for what good that has done. Please advise on any news you receive. I'll join in on the lawsuit.

Toyota Australia has acknowledged a manufacturing defect and has issued a service bulletin in April 2021, offering a 10 year warranty extension to repair the damage at their expense.

I remember years ago a Toyota salesman telling me how the environment groups were pressuring the auto groups to re-engineer their paint formulas. Must be a result of this. My daughters 2017 highlander pearl white has a huge slab of paint peeling from area behind upper windshield.

Stefanie (not verified)    February 15, 2020 - 8:07PM

What about the Toyota Prius? 2010 Pearl White Prius - numerous people reporting problems with the paint chipping / peeling; body shops reporting that the paint wasn't adhering to the primer; still Toyota is not taking responsibility and telling Prius owners they're on their own - out of warranty! :(

I just got off the phone with Toyota Customer Experience Center (1-888-270-9371) only to be told that my 2010 Prius was manufactured in Japan and that it is not on the recall list. They can't tell me if/when the car will be recalled.
I suggest that you call them ans ask about your car being taken care of. They won't be able to do anything since their job is provide canned answers written by lawyers but maybe the sheer number of calls will push them to do something.

Thank you for the update. I plan to call tomorrow. The paint is chipping and peeling very easily, yet when I took my 2010 Prius into the dealership to get repainted, I was told that Toyota won't pay for it. I'm incredulous.

I was told the same thing as respect to my 2008 Lexus GX470 - Blizard White. Mfg in Japan therefore " not "covered but those mfg in Canada are covered. We need to get enough of us together and file a complaint. My car is literally peeling paint chunks due to faulty paint. Always a proud Lexus owner - but now embarrassed to drive the car. Delamination is due to faulty paint / application. Lexus should take care of this issue!

Lucky for everyone my 2017 Tacoma super white is peeling all over the vehicle and Toyota is not covering the paint. Saying it’s a new model with not enough people effected... clearly I’m effected and my vehicle is beyond peeling

My 2010 Prius with pearl white color it’s peeling rapidly. I will have a bear car that will rust very soon. Toyota has rejected fixing it, I never knew when I bought a Prius that I can only have it for 10 years.
