Licenses and plates can be renewed the Saturday after Veterans Day in Michigan
The Department of State mails notices to motorists 45 days before their driver’s license or license plates expire, so they have time to renew.
Motorists renewing license plates can do business by mail or online at ExpressSOS.com. Instructions can be found with the renewal notice. License plate tabs will arrive by mail within seven business days.
License plate tabs can also be renewed at Self-Service Stations. Some offer 24-hour service. Go to Michigan.gov/sos to find a Self-Service Station near you.
