The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta microsite is simply awesome

Yesterday, the world was introduced to the fastest Ferrari ever with the online debut of the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and today, the Italian automaker has offered up the F12 microsite that is packed full of information and even an early configurator tool for the new supercar.

The video on the new F12 microsite starts off by asking if you want to view the microsite in English or Italian and once you make your decision, Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo narrates a video talking about the development of the incredible new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. The Ferrari boss talks about the amount of technology that went into the new F12, both in making it the most powerful Ferrari road car of all time with 740 horsepower while being 30% more efficient. Luca thanks the F1 drivers who helped with the development of the vehicle while addressing all of the finer points of the vehicle such as the lightweight aluminum chassis and the incredible levels of performance that have been track-proven during company testing.

After the Ferrari Chairman has finished, he invites us to look at the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and the viewer of the microsite is taken to what looks like an average configurator page for a new Ferrari – featuring the awesome new F12 Berlinetta on the center stage. With the click of your mouse, you can scroll the bright red Ferrari side to side in order to get a complete look at the car. If you pass your mouse cursor over the “Explore” button in the bottom left corner, you will see the option to check out the interior of the new supercar with the same ability to pan side to side or up and down. This feature provides an incredible look at the new Ferrari F12 interior with gobs of carbon fiber complimented by the black/beige or black/blue interior trim options.

The next button on the bottom left of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is Discover and there are a variety of options that open up when you pass over this button. Performance, Powertrain, Architecture, Bodywork, Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics, Design and Style are all featured in this section – offering a rundown of the specifications announced thus far. This includes the 3.1 second 0-62 time, the 8.5 second 0-104 time, the 211mph top speed, and the fact that the F12 beat the 599 Fiorano around the race course from which it got its name by 3.5 seconds.

The gallery button of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta microsite has the same images that we saw when the new supercar debuted but there are eight great videos featuring the new F12 along with eight sound clips giving you a chance to hear the awesome roar of the 740 horsepower, 6.3L V12 engine.

Finally, there is our favorite part of any microsite – the configurator section for the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. This is a very early config tool with only a few options but it is expansive enough to get our blood pumping with a huge spread of available colors, three wheels choices with a handful of brake caliper color options and a pair of two-tone interior packages. There are four types of exterior paint options – Special colors, Non Metallic colors, Metallic colors and Ferrari Historical colors – and among this selection buyers will have 28 different colors from which to pick. Next, there is only one wheel style right now for the new Ferrari F12 but these unique 5-spoke wheels are available in silver, grey or matte grey and behind these wheels buyers can pick from seven brake caliper options. Finally, there are two interior color options right now – Black/Leather or Black/Navy Blue.

My dream Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is shown in the screenshot on the right in Rosso Scuderia with Matte Grey wheels and red brake calipers. Inside, I would go with the Black and Leather interior since the Black and Blue doesn’t fit too well with the red – in my humble opinion.

Words can only do so much justice, so without further delay, click here to head on over to the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta microsite to experience the sights and sounds of the fastest Ferrari ever.
