2016 Chevrolet Camaro Caught on Camera... or Not?

The image above shows what many people believed was the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro after being posted on Tuesday by Instagram user motorcitygreek, but further investigation has revealed that these are simply a trio of customized current production Camaros that were being filmed for an upcoming automotive reality show.

It is widely expected that when the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is revealed, it will not look all that different from the current 2014 Camaro that is on sale right now. Based on that, when Instagram user motorcitygreek posted the picture above online, there is no question why so many people were quick to believe that these three Camaros are from the next generation. After all, the image was captured in GM headquarters in Detroit and there is no question that these three cars definitely look like tweaked versions of the 5th generation Camaro.

The 6th gen Camaro is supposed to look similar to the 5th gen Camaro, which these cars do, and these cars were surrounded by a film crew in the GM headquarters – leading many people to believe that the cars above are 2016 model year Camaros. There were others who believed that these were the newest Transformers Camaros.

Unfortunately, both of those beliefs are incorrect.

Shortly after the images of the supposed 2016 Chevrolet Camaro hit the internet, the high hopes that we had finally seen the 6th gen Camaro were debunked by a variety of sources. It turns out that these are 5th generation Camaro coupes that have been heavily modified for an upcoming TruTV reality show called Motor City Masters. The show will reportedly focus on custom automotive designs and these Camaros are among a larger group of cars at the GM headquarters (the rest were covered) that were being filmed and photographed for the upcoming show.

So, the bad news is that the image above does not show the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. The good news is that there is a new TV show for gearheads coming to the airwaves of TruTV so while we haven’t seen the next generation Camaro – we can all look forward to possibly learning more about these cars once the show airs. Who knows, maybe the 6th generation Camaro share some styling cues with these custom 5th gen models, but if that is the case, it will likely be a coincidence.

Look they had this Camaro shit corrected with that "three" photo shoot slanted roof model and the blue sketch draft model. The half-arch blue halogens, the back lights and sculpted body, far cry of this current played-out platform and better than the Corvette and Mustang current model. Letcgo this model, it was years late like May-Pac and it's years overdue gone, good rid of!!
