“Surprise” 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime Trim Level You Need to Know About

Work for Torque News, follow on Twitter, Youtube and Facebook.

Here is why you should count 2021 RAV4 Prime as three different grades instead of two.

I cannot remember a Toyota new vehicle launch with as much buzz and excitement coming in as with the upcoming 2021 RAV4 Prime. People are more than ready, to say the least.

It is easy to see why, too. Look for 302 horsepower, which makes it the fastest RAV4 of all time, and one of the fastest Toyotas as well. Up to 42 miles on one single battery charge. Rated at 94 MPGe fuel economy.

Are you getting fired up yet?

We know the three different trim levels. And we also know pricing philosophy for all three.

Wait, did I accidentally say three trim levels? But there are only two, right? Time to take a closer look.

People comment on 2021 RAV4 Prime

If you look at Toyota forums, you will see an interesting phenomenon developing about Toyota RAV4 Prime. Fans and enthusiasts are busy researching and selecting whether to pick the RAV4 Prime SE or RAV4 Prime XSE.

And RAV4 Prime XSE Premium. Listen to the people and see what I mean.

Kate claimed her perfect ride already. “Dibs on the XSE Premium Silver Sky!”

“At this point I have my mind set on XSE Premium.” Stated Tanya.

Benjamin has already been doing some recon work. “Talked to my local dealer today and hopefully I’ll be able to go back in next week and order one. Trying to get an XSE Premium in Supersonic Red.”

“That XSE Premium is loaded!” Exclaimed Tim.

People are already talking about this XSE Premium and deciding they want to buy it. But what is it exactly?

2021 RAV4 Prime XSE Premium Package

Here is the best way to break this down.

Expect 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime to have SE and XSE trim levels. This XSE Premium is actually the Premium Package that comes optionally and additionally on XSE vehicles.

Reserve the XSE Premium Package if you want the most luxury, convenience, safety, and technology features.

These additional features include heated/cooled front seats, heated rear seats, panoramic moonroof, Premium Audio with dynamic navigation, JBL speakers, head-up display, adaptive front headlights, parking assist with automatic braking, digital rearview mirror, 5-door smart key, power passenger seat, power-kick back door and bird’s eye view camera.

Also expect a Premium Package AC (6.6kW) Enhanced Charger and 120V/1500W AC power outlet in cargo area.

As Yoda would probably say, “Exciting, this is. RAV4 Prime, I do want.”

2021 RAV4 Prime Price

You can get a RAV4 Prime for under $40,000.

RAV4 Prime SE has a factory MSRP (without destination charge) of $38,100. XSE comes in at 41,425.

Premium Package will be $5,760 additional, since it is absolutely loaded with extras.

How much ever loaded, I would expect it say not this expensive for loaded version.

SE should end max price at $43k max with all bells and whistles.

Does anyone know if the new 9" screen is better quality than the low resolution matte finish of the previous rav4s?

ANyone know why the factory tow hitch (via fine print) says it will not work with the XSE that includes the Premium package? Works with XSEs w/o that package, so assuming there are pre-set bolt holes. Maybe the plastic bumper gets cut out.

Here's a good question,
Anyone know if the 110v/1500w plug (inverter) will be able to be purchased separately, or optional on the SE? (Aftermarket or Toyota)

I have no need or want for the bells and whistles of the XSE, or it's premium package. An extra 5,000$ can buy me an amazing generator to power my cabin.
