The rugged and capable Trailhawk model is exclusively available on 2023 Grand Cherokee 4xe. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, launched for the 2022 model year, represents the most technologically advanced and 4x4-capable Jeep Grand Cherokee yet, delivering 25 miles of all-electric range and 56 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe).

Extreme Capability in both Electric and Hybrid Modes

According to Jeep, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe conquered the formidable Rubicon Trail while under all-electric power using Electric mode. The Jeep Grand Cherokee was totally redesigned for 2022, adding the plug-in hybrid 4xe as well as a three row, extended Grand Cherokee L. The Grand Cherokee 4xe follows the incredible success of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The Wrangler 4xe has been the top selling plug-in hybrid, in the U.S., in recent memory.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe’s E Selec modes, Hybrid, Electric and eSave, allow the 4xe driver to decide when he or she wants to use the electric option. So far, many drivers opt to use the gas engine to drive to the off-road location. Many drivers love the instantaneous torque of the electric mode to use while off-roading. The electric mode is also extremely quiet letting drivers and passengers enjoy the great outdoors.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe carries a 400-volt, 17-kWh EV battery. The battery units and controls are underneath the vehicle, packaged under the floor and protected by a series of skid plates.

The battery pack system includes a dedicated heating and cooling circuit to keep the battery at its optimum temperature for best performance. The system includes a dedicated heater unit and a chiller that uses the Grand Cherokee’s air-conditioning refrigerant to reduce coolant temperature when needed. All high-voltage electronics are sealed and waterproof.

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe also offers more luxurious trim packages like the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4xe and the Summit and Summit Reserve 4xe, but if extreme performance is what you are after, you should choose the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 4xe.
