Tesla and Lucid Have Some Huge Frunks

Electric Vehicle Owners love Frunks! Tesla and Lucid has perfected them. Here is why Frunks are needed in all EVs

Lucid and Tesla fans, they will not have to worry about the front trunks. These two companies have perfected the frunk. Tesla does not need a huge air conditioner or HVAC system in the front trunk, because they are implemented in the vehicle without the need to take away unnecessary space. That is why Tesla was able to add frunks in their vehicles. Lucid also made their frunks a little more spacious. Lucid Air owners are absolutely loving it!

Let's go under the hood for a second. If we are taking a look at the Mercedes EQS or the BMW iD4, you will see no front trunk space. This is in large part because of air conditioners or HVAC systems. However, if you happen to have a Lucid Air in your presence, then you will see a frunk that is almost 4 times the size of other electric vehicles.

What Other EV Frunks

Companies like Mercedes and BMW as well as other automakers trying to make the switch from gas combustion engines to electric motors, will soon adapt to front trunks but since we are in the infancy of electric vehicle adoption, some brands' customers will have to suffer through some growing pains.

Lucid Motors engineers have allowed the Lucid Air to be smaller in dimensions than some competitors sedans, but design the Lucid Airs to be more spacious and have an airy feel for its customers and passengers. These engineers have created the largest frunk in the world and some electric sedans do not even have a frunk.

Lucid Motors engineers do more with less and these subtle changes to this incredible product has allowed the Lucid Air to win awards for Motor Trend Car of the Year for 2022 and have a significant number of nominations, which is a great achievement for their first production model.

My Thoughts on Front Trunks

I personally love using my front trunk on my Tesla Model 3. The only thing that I do not like is that it is not big enough for and only certain items can really fit inside of it. With that said, I love using the front trunk for groceries and hot food that can smell up your vehicle. With a frunk, this probably goes away since it is outside of the vehicle, the small amount of the food does not get into my car.

The Lucid Air has a notoriously large front trunk that is almost 4 times larger than the fronks of its electric vehicle competitors. Some electric vehicle automakers do not even support front trunks as they implement larger air conditions or HVACs, but I do believe that one day we will see a mass adoption to front trunks because of the utility that users receive with the extra spacing.
