Spring Guide - What Makes Subaru Vehicles Best For Your Outdoor Adventures

The new 2020 Subaru Outback, Forester, and Crosstrek models are more than grocery haulers. See why they are best for getting outside this spring.

Most automakers design their cars to have the broadest appeal for most buyers and are built to be efficient for commuting. Subaru has always been a bit different and created a niche market for those who want to get away from civilization on the weekends. The 2020 Subaru Outback wagon and new fifth-generation Forester compact SUV have been completely redesigned and come with more features for those with active lifestyles.

With the first day of spring coming this week, many active individuals, regardless of age, want to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors exploring, going on hikes, mountain biking, trail running, fishing, camping, kayaking, and surfing. A report from Singletracks says mountain bikers are three times as likely as the average American to own a Subaru over any other brand. They also report, riders clearly enjoy their Subaru Outbacks, Jeep Wranglers, Jeep Cherokees, and Subaru Foresters more than all other vehicles in America.

It’s not surprising Subaru would be popular with mountain bikers since the automaker created the compact sport utility vehicle all-wheel-drive segment with the small Forester SUV in 1998, and Outback (1995) came along to bring a wagon to the mix. They brought another vehicle in 2013 when they added the Crosstrek subcompact SUV for a young active demographic. All come with standard all-wheel-drive, 8.7-inches of ground clearance, and X-Mode for off-pavement activities.

If you don’t want to be sitting at home this spring, Subaru keeps adding more features to make its vehicles more appealing to those with active lifestyles. Their lineup of new 2020 Forester Sport, Outback Onyx XT and coming 2021 Crosstrek Sport are arguably the best all-wheel-drive SUVs to get you far away from civilization.

You don’t have to spend a lot of money on accessories, as Subaru Forester and Outback are big enough to throw a sleeping bag down and two people can sleep comfortably in the back. If you get a bike roof rack carrier, you can mount your mountain bikes on top and you are ready for the trail.

The 2020 Subaru Forester compact SUV, Outback wagon and Crosstrek subcompact SUV are perfect vehicles for getting you away from boring after a long winter. With Subaru’s standard Symmetrical all-wheel-drive, a few accessories and the right gear, you can get far away from civilization and enjoy outdoor adventures this spring.
