The driver roster has been set for the 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R ALMS debut

TorqueNews recently brought you the news that the 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R would make its return to racing at the American LeMans Series event on August 4th at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course and today we have a full look at the four drivers who will help reintroduce the Viper to endurance racing.

When the 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R hits the track for the 2012 Ohio Sports Car Challenge at Mid Ohio raceway, there will be two teams in the ALMS GT class – the silver and blue #91 Viper sponsored by Forza Motorsport (this was the car that helped debut the new race Viper at the New York Auto Show) along with the silver and yellow #93 Viper sponsored by Pennzoil Ultra. The #91 Viper will be driven by Canadian Kumo Wittmer and German Dominik Farnbacher while the #93 Viper will be driven by Belgian Marc Goossens and American Tommy Kendal.

Wittmer, Farnbacher and Goossens were announced as drivers of the 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R right after the introduction of the new race car but experienced road racer Tommy Kendal announced recently that he would be the fourth full time driver for SRT Motorsports in the American LeMans Series. When the new Viper factory backed race program was announced months ago, the fourth driver listed along with Wittmer, Farnbacher and Goossens was American driver Ryan Hunter-Reay but like recently announced driver Jonathan Bomarito – Hunter-Reay will only participate in the longer races that require each team to have three drivers.

When the 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R makes its racing debut in Ohio early next month, the #91 and #93 Vipers will help comprise a 13 car field for the GT class of the American LeMans Series. The full lineup for the ALMS Ohio Sports Car Challenge is as follows:
