You Will Like These New 2020 Toyota RAV4 Updates

America’s best-selling SUV steps up with important new updates you will enjoy. See what they are.

When you completely redesign your vehicle for the 2019 model year, you might not expect any changes the following year. The same might be said if you are the best-selling SUV in the entire country. This is not the case with the 2020 Toyota RAV4.

America’s top SUV has a nice surprise for consumers.

Not one to rest on its previous accomplishments and laurels, 2020 RAV4 comes storming back with new applications, standard features that never used to be standard, and a shuffling of option packages. Oh, and there is a new RAV4 model as well.

Toyota listens to fans with 2020 RAV4 multimedia

I get an enormous amount of “Toyotajeff” YouTube channel and Torque News readercomments, as well as emails and phone calls, from Toyota fans every day. And I love it. For the last 3 to 4 years, the biggest question has been whether Toyota will add either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to different models.

CarPlay was part of the 2019 RAV4 redesign. I wrote a previous article that Android fans would be thrilled with the 2020 RAV4, and thankfully I was right. Android Auto is now standard on all 2020 RAV4 vehicles.

Also, SiriusXM, as part of an aggressive Toyota initiative to become a multimedia leader, is standard across the board. In the past, to get SiriusXM you would need Audio Plus or higher multimedia system. Now, even the LE and XLE grade levels have this wildly popular application.

Power driver’s seat for 2020 RAV4 XLE

People in the market for a 2019 RAV4 needed to select the Convenience Package in order to get a power driver’s seat. This year, for the 2020 Toyota RAV4, this power seat is standard on all XLE models and higher. Also included in this new plan is the XLE Hybrid.

Moonroof is not standard anymore

A power sliding moonroof is no longer standard equipment on the 2020 RAV4 XLE and XLE Hybrid. To get this, you would select the “new” Convenience Package.

Speaking of new option packages.

Toyota shuffles 2020 RAV4 Packages

Toyota has moved around a couple of its packages for the 2020 Toyota RAV4. The Convenience and Weather packages are 2 of RAV4’s most popular additions, so consumers will want to get used to this new shuffling of additional features.

Convenience Package will now contain power moonroof and power rear tailgate.

Weather Package has 4 features: heated front seats, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and windshield wiper de-icer.

The RAV4 Adventure trim level is known for not having a standard moonroof. To get this feature, you will select Convenience Package. This will give you, as with the XLE and XLE Hybrid, power moonroof and power liftgate.

Limited customers should be thrilled with Toyota’s announcement to make JBL audio system standard in all Limited vehicles. This rocking system will offer passengers concert-like performance with 11 speakers and an 800-watt amplifier.

And, of course, the 2020 RAV4 TRD Off-Road is coming right around the corner. This new model will add to Toyota’s tough TRD Off-Road lineup as seen in the 2020 4Runner and 2020 Tacoma.

What do you think of the changes coming to 2020 RAV4? Will you be in the market for a small SUV in the near future, and will the RAV4 be on your list?

Can’t believe there aren’t new colors offered for 2020 Hybrids. Just the usual black, white and shades of gray. Yawn.

Hope the 2020 Rav has better quality than my 2019 AWD Limited. Lurching transmission, remote start, locks never worked, paint peeling off and car made in Japan.

Lurching Transmission is Indeed a "Night Mare" on my 2019 Limited AWD. Its the worst Tranny I have EVER had in my 66 years on this earth.and to think I was excited to get an 8 speed over a CVT...Not on this Rav4..Funny thing is my wife has the F sport NX 300 Lexus which is Rav 4's Lexus counterpart, and that one has Zero Lurching & rides like a LEXUS!!!..But it has a Turbo which makes a difference...Also my mileage Sucks.with 22-25 average its ridiculous for a 204 horse 4 cylinder..and the Clock on the radio goes from blank to 24 hour to 12 hour back to blank,,and my son in law has the exact same car in red and does the same thing.Toyota says nothing they can do about it..So I think its time for a Lexus RC 350 F Sport. I want the V6, a smooth ride and 25 + MPG with 300 HP..You came close toyota on this Rav 4, but NO CIGAR for this toyota Loyalist (PS I also have a 2019 Tundra and Love it and my daughter has a 2015 Highlander and loves it so yes we are Toyota Loyalists), but disappointed in this 2019 Rav 4!!! :-(..Hello LEXUS!!!

Got a 2020 RAV4 Hybrid XLE. not happy that the passenger seat is not powered; just the driver's seat. Also, anybody having this problem; When playing SiriusXM and have android cell hooked up, it keeps cutting off SiriusXM and trying to play Pandora on Android? It is really annoying, every half hour it cuts to it and I want SiriusXM on so I have to manually switch it back.
