What to Expect with 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid MPG

What you should know about 2022 Tundra i-FORCE MAX fuel economy.

I have been following the release of all-new Toyota Tundra for over a year now. Details have been coming in slowly but surely most of 2021.

Now, though, we have most of the information we have been waiting with much anticipation to learn.

Most information – but not all.

Two of the most common (and understandable) 2022 Tundra questions I get from my “ToyotaJeff Reviews” YouTube channel and Instagram page concern pricing and fuel numbers.

Here is a sample.

Fernando simply said. “Price please.”

“What is mpg for Tundra i-FORCE MAX Jeff?” Requested Tony.

Julio wondered. “How much for TRD Pro Tundra?”

“How much better is MPG for hybrid Tundra?” Requested John.

Well, those are all terrific questions.

We will find out 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid mpg sooner than later. That much I do know.

What we know already is fuel economy for gasoline-only Tundra.

For the base Toyota Tundra with standard twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine you can expect:

- 4x2 i-FORCE: SR: 18 city / 24 highway / 20 combined. SR5, Limited, Platinum, 1794: 18 city / 23 highway / 20 combined.

- 4x4 i-FORCE: SR, SR5: 17 city / 23 highway / 19 combined. Limited, Platinum, 1794: 17 city / 22 highway / 19 combined.

While we do not yet know 2022 Tundra i-FORCE Max mpg, we do know some details.

Tundra Hybrid features the same 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine but utilizes an electric motor to produce greatly increased power.

Base Tundra i-FORCE produces 389 horsepower and 479 lb.-ft. torque. Hybrid Tundra i-FORCE MAX delivers 437 horsepower and a whopping 583 lb.-ft. torque.

The real question concerns how Toyota Tundra mpg between base and hybrid will compare.

Standard 2022 Toyota Tundra i-FORCE combines for either 19mpg or 20mpg. I would naturally expect Tundra Hybrid to come in higher than these numbers.

It is hard to say if it will be mildly higher or significantly higher.

As I mentioned, we should know both Tundra Hybrid mpg and pricing soon.

Time for Your Toyota Tundra Comments

For me, any improvement in miles per gallon with significantly greater horsepower and torque will be considered a win in my book.

On a similar note, how about the big reveal of 2023 Sequoia? I am incredibly happy with both exterior and interior styling.

Did you just write an article saying people were asking about the price and mpg of the hybrid Tundra and then ramble on about nothing and not give any updates or answers? Come on man.

Love the 23 sequoia. Getting ready to reserve one. Just reserved a 22 highlander too. I’m guessing 23-25 mpg for the sequoia and 22-24 for the tundra since the hybrid engine is not for mpg but instead for instant torque for towing.
