Toyota Teases Yellow Picture: Are We Seeing 2022 Toyota 4Runner?

We think we know the 2022 4Runner TRD Pro color. Toyota is teasing yellow.

Toyota has been busy these last several days.

First, it released a brief teaser video of the all-new 2022 Tundra near the end of last week. Yesterday morning Toyota toyed with us again by showing a mysterious picture of 2022 Prius Nightshade.

Then, Toyota whets our appetites again with an extremely intriguing picture of two new Tacoma trim levels that were “adventure-ready.” This happened yesterday afternoon.

This last part is where it gets interesting for 2022 4Runner.

By the way, special thanks to Instagram content creator @4Runnersnacks. He mocks up Toyota 4Runner in multiple shades and hues so we can see how 4Runner changes based on color. Feel free to follow his page.

I have been speculating for the last few weeks about what the new unique 2022 4Runner TRD Pro color will be.

First, I addressed the rumor that we might see a Citrus Lime Metallic Toyota 4Runner. I have also looked at the possibility of getting a 2022 4Runner in Sun Fusion Yellow (like the FJ Cruiser color) and, most recently, a Black Cherry 4Runner.

I was mostly sure the 2022 Toyota 4Runner would be a goldish-yellow color like the 2021 Supra in Nitro Yellow.

But, of course, Toyota teased its new 2022 Tacoma picture yesterday. If it looks like a TRD Pro and walks like a TRD Pro, well it probably is a TRD Pro.

In a yellow highlighter sort of color. Perhaps a yellowish-lime shade. Truthfully, it is difficult to tell the exact shade, since the sun hitting the truck at different angles can affect how we see it. Interesting.

If this is a Tacoma TRD Pro, one would think we can extrapolate that information for the 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro as well.

I mean, right?

Toyota Teaser Announcement

Time to examine both Toyota social media posts yesterday and look for clues.

First one:

“Two new adventure-ready trucks are on the horizon for the mid-size segment-leading Toyota Tacoma. Gear up and get ready!”

Next one:

“With over 25 years of heritage and capability, sometimes you have to reflect on where you’ve been to know where you’re going. Check back soon to see the newest adventure-ready Tacomas…”

If you look closely at the Tacoma teaser picture you can see a few things. First, the wheel design is new versus current year TRD Pro. Next, you can see beefy red “probably FOX Shocks” behind the tires.

Do you think this is the soon-to-be-released color for TRD Pro then?

I am going crazy wondering here.

Time for your Toyota 4Runner comments

We know a couple things about 2022 Toyota 4Runner already. There will be no more 4Runner Venture and 4Runner Nightshade. They are being replaced with something new to the 4Runner lineup.

I assume we will get an announcement on this new 4Runner trim level in the next couple weeks. Perhaps even sooner.

Do you think this is the yellowish-green 2022 4Runner TRD Pro color? If so, are you happy with this choice. Perhaps more importantly, would you be interested in buying one if it turns out to be yellow?

I wonder if Toyota sells these as new old stock. I mean c’mon, you might as well buy a 2010 have it wrapped in yellow/ gold/ lime /moonbeam whatever the hell color and save some $$$. This model is played out. I am ready for a new body style, engine and drive train.
