Bright! Lift! Style! Top Changes for 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro

You may not believe the updates coming on 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro. We list them all.

This is the moment many Toyota fans have been waiting for. We finally have big updates for the 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro.

The nation’s top selling midsize truck must continue to evolve and improve each year in order to continue dominating its market segment.

Toyota Racing Development has worked with Toyota to improve both performance and styling with 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro.

Without further delay, here are the main changes coming for 2022.

2022 Tacoma TRD Pro Color

Electric Lime Metallic is the Toyota exclusive TRD Pro color for 2022. Talk about bright. I think this will prove to be one of those colors that is polarizing at first. Many people will love it immediately. Some not so much.

In the end, an Electric Lime Metallic Toyota Tacoma should be just as high demand as previous colors Lunar Rock and Army Green.

Other color options are Super White, Midnight Black Metallic and Magnetic Gray Metallic.

Lift that 2022 Toyota Tacoma

Tacoma TRD Pro suspension has evolved for the 2022 model year. We still have beefy 2.5-inch FOX internal bypass shocks. However, this year’s entry comes with a suspension lift – 1.5 inches in the front end and .5 inches for the rear end.

This impactful change will allow drivers to push their Tacoma TRD Pro even further. Approach angle has increased to 36.4 degrees, departure angle improves to 24.7 degrees, and breakover angle is higher at 26.6 degrees.

Like my new Tacoma kicks?

Look for new wheels and tires for 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro in Electric Lime Metallic. I do not think I will get tired of saying Electric Lime anytime soon, by the way. This is a pretty cool name.

Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro comes with new 16-inch black wheels, with red “TRD” logo, and with a wider track width than stock. Tires are Goodyear Wrangler Territory All-Terrain, size 265/70R16.

New 2022 Toyota Tacoma Badging

Gone are the front door “TRD Pro” badges of 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro. These are replaced with black “Tacoma” badging on the front doors.

Along the rear end plan to see “Tacoma,” “TRD Pro” and “4x4” black badging.

TRD Pro Stamp of Approval

First impressions mean a lot in so many daily situations. People may notice right away your 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro rear stamping has evolved.

The words “TRD” and “PRO” are on top of each other and separated slightly to make even more of a bold statement.

Tacoma Hood Scoop

The hood scoop will continue with its blacked-out graphics.

But I also read a blurb in the Toyota press release that says an available graphics package will complement the hood scoop.

I am not quite sure what this part means yet. It does sound intriguing.

2022 Toyota Tacoma Specs

Powertrain options will carry over from 2021 Tacoma.

A 2022 Tacoma TRD Pro is powered with a 3.5-liter Atkinson-cycle engine that produces 278 horsepower and 265 lb.-ft. torque.

Your Tacoma TRD Pro will be offered in both 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission.

Time for your Toyota Tacoma thoughts

Thanks for reading everyone.

Although initially I am most interested in seeing an Electric Lime Tacoma up close and personal, I think people will be most interested in the practical improvements with the ride and where they can take their Tacoma.

I look forward to seeing people taking their Tacoma TRD Pro even further and across more challenging obstacles and terrain.

The color aside, im disappointed that they didnt fix the camera system, etc. wouldve been nice.

Was also hoping for dark red cherry or burnt orange or something… yellow and neon green are for 20-something yr old fanboys.
