Lucid Motors, Jay Leno and the Lucid Air Go for a Ride

Lucid Air had its day in the limelight when legend Jay Leno checked out the Lucid Air Dream Edition. Jay Leno looked very excited and impressed when Lucid Motors Lead Designer Derek Jenkins was going over the Lucid Air specs. This is very exciting for the Lucid team, because they have really worked very hard in order to create such an amazing product. LucidAir has already taken home a couple of awards and is nominated for more, one of which is the 2022 Motor Trend Car of the Year.

The interior display in the LucidAir is very well integrated and has a lot of users very excited when they see the LucidAir for the first time. The glass cockpit makes the vehicle very spacious and competes directly with Tesla's glass cockpit. LucidAir is a very heavy vehicle but feels light and the acceleration rivals the Tesla Model S Plaid. The Lucid Air gets faster from 60-140 which is quite exciting as a speedster like I am. “It's a 200 mile per hour car, the software limits it to 168.”

The Battery of the LucidAir is going to last for the duration of the vehicle's life, and can even have a second life with Lucid Motors Energy Storage System. Statements that Made My Eyes Open Wide

First off, Jay Leno stated that Lucid Air had delivered around 500 vehicles or so in 2021. It is interesting that the Lucid Motors team would allow him to discuss the delivery number. This is just speculation and probably nothing, but it is important to bring up because it did make my eyes wide open.

Lucid Motors has stated this multiple times, but Lucid builds their own Electric Motors, which Jay Leno seemed to be very impressed that Lucid Motors had achieved this kind of Battery pack technology. Unlike other Electric Vehicle startups and companies, Lucid is a Technology and Renewable Energy company that happens to make Automobiles. Lucid Motors is all in house from the Automobiles, the Electric Motors, the Battery Packs, the inverter and the wunderbox technology is all American made, in Arizona.

Another statement that made this video very informative was the LucidAirs charging capabilities. LucidAir is able to charge 200 miles in around 10 minutes. I have a Tesla Model 3 and it takes around 20-25 minutes to charge all the way up to full and my battery range is only around 220 miles.

The Best Comments from the Jay Leno Garage

Jay Leno joked that “Peter Rawlinson has that proper Arizona accent”, which I thought was very funny.

“Lucid Air has achieved 20,000 RPM without the Carbon so it is saving costs.” Peter Rawlinson

“I don’t get people that don’t get it. It's like Rap and Rock n’ Roll, it's both music you can like one more than the other but you can’t deny that they are both music… and one will eventually win out and obviously it's going to be Electric. I think that the Electric will be the great savior of the internal combustion engine.” Jay Leno

My Final Thoughts

I love Jay Leno's Garage because he seems to just be a regular auto enthusiast that wants to learn about the car and how it is made. Jay Leno makes learning about new vehicles very fun and makes it easy for viewers to stay engaged. LucidAir looked to put a huge smile on Jay Leno's face and he seemed to be very impressed. The information in this video was just amazing and I think that we may see a new crowd flock to Lucid after this video. Peter Rawlinson was informative as always, and it is very cool to see Lucid get more exposure.

This is just the beginning of Lucid Motors brand development and when more videos like this one come out, Lucid will continue to grow their audience reach. I really enjoyed that video.
