Giga Mexico Will Take Up To 15 Months To Build: And Be Bigger Than Giga Texas

We have word that Tesla's new factory in Mexico will take up to 15 months to build - and that it will be bigger than Giga Texas

15 Months To Build

Tesla's Giga Mexico is going to take around 12 to 15 months to build, according to the Monterrey, Mexico, Governor.

The Governor has said that in the beginning, Tesla mentioned that they want to break the 9-month record to build Giga Shanghai, however, with the meetings that have taken place, and the new Compact Model that Tesla wants to build, it's going to require a whole new production line.

That means that this factory is going to be bigger than Giga Texas and will take a lot longer to build. I think it's going to take longer because Tesla is going to be implementing manufacturing techniques and processes they have never done before, and it is going to take time to hash the design out for that.

I see two new compact vehicles coming out of Giga Mexico: a compact Model 3 and a compact Model Y. The price range will vary between $20,000 and $28,000 or so for these vehicles.

There will be a process to get the factory construction started, but I'm hopeful that it will be a much faster process than what Giga Berlin had to go through.

Bigger Than Giga Texas

This factory is going to be bigger than Giga Texas, and Giga Texas is enormous! That means this factory should be gearing up to produce an astounding number of vehicles per year, and I would say that number will be between 3 and 4 million compact vehicles of the compact Model 3 and compact Model Y.

Tesla is going to implement manufacturing improvements and processes that will help them get to that multi-million number, and Tesla went over this in great detail during its Investor Day, 2023, presentation earlier this year.

I'm excited to see this factory get under construction and to start producing vehicles. The compact car is a critical release for Tesla as its production will surpass all other models that exist currently, combined.

I see Tesla building another large scale factory like this somewhere in China or Korea somewhere as well.

Tesla won't stop here with these two additional enormous factories. I believe Tesla will eventually build another giant giga factory somewhere near India with a compact of the compact that will cost around $15,000 to $18,000 to tap into the India market.

And then, Tesla may not even stop there and may make a single passenger car - or just buy Aptera, and use that model as a two passenger vehicle for Robotaxis - because it will be able to operate so long using solar Energy and an up to 1,000-mile range battery.

What do you think about Giga Mexico - is this going to be built faster than 15 months?
