And, believe it or not---inspecting a used vehicle can be an art form. Typically, this is a skill honed from years of practical experience and/or shadowing a mentor who knows what he is doing. And that’s the beauty of this Age and the Internet---there is a plethora of YouTube videos that can be a useful compromise (but rarely a substitute) for practical experience and mentoring.

Admittedly, many YouTube videos are not always helpful or useful; however, there are select ones out there that are informative and welcome when it comes to homeschooling the shade tree mechanic, which is why I like to delve into a morass of videos and find those that I believe are instructive and helpful.

An Example of When the Two Meet

That said, here’s one video that I believe serves as a good example of virtual-shadowing a popular mechanic as he inspects a popular used vehicle on YouTube that I believe serves as a good example of what can be learned when automotive instruction is presented in a useful style with applicable content.
