Shopping for a used car is risky business, but can be rewarding if you find a gem in the rough that needs just a little work to ensure it will last you many more miles.

One way to hedge your bets is to focus your search on models made by Toyota. However, there are caveats to this and you should understand that even Toyota’s have their share of problems. Most of which depend on just how well or how poorly the previous owner maintained their vehicle and/or where the Toyota lived most of its life.
