Special safety note here: While I have fond memories of living in Asia and finding in the rural areas some very creative modifications of vehicles for hauling large cargo or powering industrial sized manufacturing machinery---and still serve as the family car---taking the passenger seat out to serve as a bicycle carrier is very unsafe.
