The Subaru brand is all about getting off the beaten path and getting away from civilization. But the 2015 Outback keeps its core values of being a vehicle for adventure seekers. Subaru reports that Outback has had the best July sales ever. What makes it so popular with adventure seekers?

A new level of recreational use

The new Outback is really a contrast in function between luxury and function. What will entice a new generation of adventure seekers is the a new level of recreational use the new 2015 Outback crossover comes with. All 2015 Outback models now come equipped with the X-Mode system, which debuted on the 2014 Forester. It can be engaged by simply flipping a switch on the console.

For active lifestyles

This is why a new generation will be attracted to Outback. You won’t find them sitting on the couch watching extreme sports. They are city dwellers who will be in the mountains and back country looking to get off the beaten trail and away from civilization on the weeknds. They will be driving over high mountain passes that are covered in snow and ice to get to their destination. The new Outback will definitely get them there.

Outback comes with new X Mode

The new Outback is even better for extreme conditions with X Mode. All 2015 Outback models now come equipped as standard with the X-Mode system, which debuted on the new-generation Forester. When engaged by a switch on the console, X-Mode optimizes engine output and CVT ratio position, increases Active All-Wheel Drive engagement and uses enhanced control logic for the Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system to reduce individual wheel spin. This will be ideal for getting to the trailhead and for off-road excursions.

Improved AWD capability

Outbacks ability to handle extreme conditions, gets better. 2015 Outback now comes with a newly refined version of the Active Torque Split version of Symmetrical AWD. The system’s Active Torque Split AWD optimizes traction and steering response when accelerating through turns and curves, particularly when the road surface is slippery.

The new Outback now comes standard with better off-road capabilities than the outgoing model and will definitely appeal to adventure seekers. One of the brands core values has always been about providing a superior level of off-road capability in their models. Subaru specializes in all-wheel-drive vehicles and the all-new 2015 Subaru Outback will be a vehicle for adventure seekers to go places they have never been.
