New Next-Generation Subaru Impreza Details And When It’s Coming

The next-generation Subaru Impreza has been delayed, but it's coming this fall. Here are new details on the 2024 Subaru Impreza.

Like the 2023 Crosstrek, the 2023 Subaru Impreza compact sedan and hatchback were carryovers with no new upgrades. The Impreza is due for a complete remodel, and a new report from BestCarWeb says the next-generation 2024 Subaru Impreza will be announced by Subaru soon.

The new report says the next-generation Subaru Impreza is scheduled to appear this fall in November 2022. The Impreza sedan and hatchback compact car will likely get significant upgrades and could get the second generation Subaru Global Platform (SGP) for the first time.

The Impreza was the first Subaru model to adopt the new Subaru Global Platform and made its debut in 2017. The 2024 Impreza will get substantial improvements with the second-generation SGP.

BestCarWeb says the second-generation Subaru Global Platform will improve ride quality significantly over the current model. The exterior will also change, and the interior will grow and gain legroom over the current generation model.

New safety technology

Look for the Impreza to have improved safety technology. There are rumors that Impreza's EyeSight driver assist safety technology will be equipped with a system configuration that adopts autonomous Driving Level 3, but Subaru has not confirmed this.

Subaru is evaluating its next-generation EyeSight, which assists in collision avoidance. It works in situations such as when encountering cars, pedestrians, and bicycles at intersections with poor visibility and turning left or right.

Subaru Corporation has confirmed and announced the next-generation Eyesight safety technology would have a new "green light notification" function. The next-generation Subaru Impreza with EyeSight will support the prevention of "accidentally" moving forward while waiting for a traffic light. Sounds and displays will notify the driver if the light turns red and continues to park for a fixed time.

Will the 2024 Impreza gets new engine upgrades?

We don't expect significant changes to the drivetrain of the 2024 Impreza. The Impreza for Subaru of America is manufactured in Lafayette, Indiana, with the 2.0-liter Boxer engine and will get new upgrades to improve fuel efficiency. BestCarWeb says the Japan-spec Impreza will get a new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine upgrade and possibly Subaru's mild e-Boxer Hybrid technology.

The next-generation 2024 Subaru Impreza is expected to be announced in November and will launch in the U.S. in the spring or summer of 2023. Stay tuned.

I really hope that the 2.5 is available with a 6 speed manual. I need to replace my 06 5 speed outback and this will get my money, if I can get it with those options
