Production styling of Lexus LF-NX Turbo even more exciting than concept

During a recent presentation Lexus showed a slide of the production version of the new LF-NX crossover.

During a recent presentation by Jim Lentz, CEO of Toyota North America, the styling of the exciting new crossover from Lexus was shown on the screen for an instant. The great news is that the chunky and polarizing styling of the concept car is toned down, but still very exciting.

The front end of the production Lexus LF-NX is much more streamlined. The front grill is very much the company standard style and that is a very good thing. On the new IS 350 and IS 250 this styling has effectively doubled sales and buyers are going for the more extreme spindle grill on the F-Sport variants in surprisingly large numbers. The spindle grill, headlights, and the from air dam all would look very much at home on any sports car, and in fact they are at home on the new RC 350 and RC F sports coupes also being released later this year by Lexus.

The good news is that the 2.0 liter turbocharged engine we reported on earlier is slated for production. We predict about 250 horsepower and very good mileage from the new Lexus with this engine. In AWD form, the vehicle might achieve 27 MPG highway and 22 city. For those who want to spend less on gas, the LF-NX will also come with a hybrid drivetrain. That new vehicle will most likely be the premium sport crossover with the best MPG on the planet.

We must give a shout-out to GTSpirit.com for catching the significance of this brief glimpse of the new Lexus LF-NX.
