Listen to the Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang Roar in the Wild

We have seen the new Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang in person at a couple auto shows and we have even gotten a chance to hear the new high performance pony cars rev their engines in and around the displays, but this new video showing a Shelby GT350 test car out in the wild still grabs my attention.

This video, showing a 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang out and about on public roads with its striking black and white camouflage, was captured in the West Phoenix, Arizona area. It doesn’t reveal anything groundbreaking, as we have already seen the car in full production trim, but this is another great chance to hear the new flat plane V8 as the Shelby GT350 Mustang drives away from the camera.

The Shelby Cues
When this video first came to me through a reader, I wanted to do my best to make sure that this was indeed a new Shelby GT350 Mustang and not just a leftover drivetrain mule of the 2015 Mustang GT. Upon closer examination, even with the intense black and white camo, this car appears to have the vented front fenders, the extended rocker skirts, the large Brembo brakes and the throaty quad tip exhaust system that make the GT350 unique from the Mustang GT. There is also the roar of the engine as the mysterious Mustang drives away, which is far louder than your everyday 2015 Mustang GT.

The young lady filming this video is keen to what she is seeing and she has her window open, ready to catch the sound of the 5.2L flat plane engine as the newest Shelby Mustang rolls away. Before the high performance pony car drives away from the camera, we can hear the grumble of the new high performance engine at idle, but when the light turns green, the good stuff comes out.

Granted, the driver of this Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang eased away from the stop light pretty gently, but the car still sounds incredible even under light throttle. We only get to hear him accelerate through 1st gear, but particularly at the top end of the gear, the exhaust note of the GT350 is exactly what you would expect from a modern, high performance American muscle car.

Crank up your speakers and enjoy!
