2018 Dodge Hellcat Challenger, Charger Changes Detailed

2018 is the 4th model year for the 707 horsepower Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger in SRT Hellcat trim. There are no major changes other than the addition of the new widebody package, but Dodge has added some new appearance features inside and out which will help the 2018 models stand out a bit from the 2015-2017 model years.

2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Changes

First up, the outside of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat gets news grille badges with the SRT logo and the Hellcat head logo (2015-2017 only have the SRT logo in the grille) along with new cut-out style fender badges with a raw metal finish.

In addition to the black and Brass Monkey wheels, the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat can now be ordered with a new Nano Steel wheel finish, which is a dark metallic grey and behind those wheels, buyers can now order the Brembo brake calipers in black, orange or gunmetal – in addition to the red calipers from the 2017 models.

The most interesting exterior change for the 2018 Hellcat Challenger is the addition of the illuminated Air-Catch headlights, which have an illuminated Hellcat head logo inside. The Air Catcher headlights still function the same way, but now the inner portion lights up, creating a cool effect with the lit logo inside.

Finally, the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat gets a new red SRT Hellcat badge on the passenger side HVAC vent and the optional Demonic Red leather interior.

The pricing for the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has not been announced, but with the new badging and the fancier headlights, I would expect at least a small price hike for the new model year.

Functionally, the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the same as the 2015-2017 models, with a supercharged 6.2L Hemi delivering 707 horsepower and 650lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat doesn’t get a widebody kit for the 2018 model year, but it does receive some of the appearance changes from the Hellcat Challenger.

The 2018 Hellcat Charger shares the cut-out style fender badges and the new grille badge with the SRT emblem and the Hellcat head logo. The 2018 Charger SRT Hellcat also gets the new Nano Steel wheel finish, the optional red, orange or gunmetal Brembo brake calipers, the optional red leather and the new SRT Hellcat logo on the passenger’s side HVAC vent.

Since the Charger doesn’t have the similar headlight design to the Challenger, the 2018 Hellcat sedan doesn’t get the cool illuminated Air Catcher headlights with the Hellcat logo, but those folks ordering a 707hp Dodge Charger for 2018 can now add new dual Gunmetal Grey stripes.

As is the case with the Hellcat Challenger, there is no pricing on the 2018 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat just yet, but with these improvements could come some small price increase.
