Toyota has made a corporate decision in recent years to produce “no more boring cars,” as proclaimed by president Akio Toyoda.
This means improved styling and performance, including the 2020 Camry TRD and Avalon TRD. It also includes all-around improvements in exterior and interior looks, as well as proactive updates with safety and technology. I think of the incredibly popular 2019 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid models.
Now comes the introduction of 2020 Toyota 4Runner Venture Special Edition. One look at this new 4Runner model and it sparks nostalgia. Back to the original intention of Toyota 4Runner. Rugged. Sporty. For the outdoors.
2020 4Runner Venture looks tough
Toyota markets 2020 4Runner Venture as a combination of “utility meets flair”.
The highlight of this all-new model is the Yakima Megawarrior roof basket with cross bars. This nice touch is where utility really comes into play. It is ideal for camping, hauling, moving and just plain overall adventuring.
Venture has 4Runner’s traditional powertrain consisting of a 4.0-Liter V6 engine and 5-speed automatic transmission. It drives on Venture-specific 17” gunmetal grey TRD alloy wheels.
Other components of the “Venture package” are black badging and logos, along with all-weather floor liners.

Toyota 4Runner Venture is available in 6 different color choices. You can choose from Barcelona Red Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Nautical Blue Metallic and Super White.

Factory MSRP for 2020 4Runner Venture is $44,285. For comparison, MSRP for TRD Off-Road Premium is $42,470 and the 2020 TRD Pro is $49,765.

The adventure could go a lot

The adventure could go a lot further if they modernized the powertrain. The engine is quite ancient, and the transmission is one of a few left with only five gears. C'mon Toyota, it is more than overdue to show the 4Runner some real love, and not just iterative appearance packages.

Well, I do agree that 2020 4Runner Venture looks amazing, that's a fact. It looks like there is a lot of space inside. But I would also like to see the inner design of this baby, its "equipment system" (amplifierexpertsdotcom), etc.
