Demand for 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Has Truck Buyers Seeing Army Green

Things are about to get exciting in the truck world. With the release of the refreshed 2020 Toyota Tacoma just a couple months away, truck shoppers are compiling their wish lists already. Especially those painted Army Green.

Since I started covering the Toyota brand over 13 years ago, I do not recall a more exciting time to discuss the Toyota lineup. With huge hits, including the red-hot 2019 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid, already reaching dealership lots and owner driveways, it is time to look forward to “coming attractions.”

2020 Models Coming soon to Toyota dealerships

The 2020 Supra will make its triumphant return later this month and this is already proving to be an unbelievably exciting event in itself. Plus, Toyota trucks and SUV’s are ready to introduce many important updates and improvements as they refresh their looks, their technology and their safety features.

Of all the models preparing to reach dealerships throughout the country in the next few months, the one I am most looking forward to is the 2020 Toyota Tacoma. The entire trim level lineup is due for a model year refresh, which means most Tacoma trucks will feature new grilles and wheels, along with power driver’s seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. But, there is one Tacoma that has already received so much more hype than any other model or grade.

The 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro.

2020 Toyota Tacoma Army Green is the Color to Watch For

“Love the ARMY GREEN, looks like it is ready to go overlanding to the mountains and FIGHT with the elements.”

“Already visualizing myself in this baby!!! YEAH!!!!”

“It’s green for me!!! Like the changes.”

2020 Toyota Tacoma Army Green Side View

As any new model year approaches, it is often met with fanfare from car and truck enthusiasts ready to see what their favorite brand has in store for them next. This 2020 Toyota Tacoma is different, though. People are more excited than ever with the news of Army Green and cannot wait to see it in person.

Army green is the exclusive 2020 TRD Pro color across the Toyota lineup this year. Army Green will be featured on the 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro. It will be offered on the new 2020 Sequoia TRD Pro. Do not be surprised to find it shown off on the 2020 4Runner and 2020 Tundra as well. As I said, this will be exciting.

Yes, the 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro will have other colors too

The 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro is offered in 3 color choices, including Midnight Black Metallic, Super White and Voodoo Blue. Voodoo is this year’s exclusive color reserved for TRD Pro.

For 2020 expect Toyota to mix in another paint color. Get it – mix in a paint color. See what I did there?
Magnetic Gray Metallic, Super White, Midnight Black Metallic and Army Green will be the colors to choose from for 2020 model year Tacoma.

But will we be able to get our hands on a 2020 Tacoma in Army Green?

“I want that army green on all Toyotas”

“I LOVE THAT COLOR!” (By the way, this comment came from a Honda fan.)

“Army Green is sexy!”

If you have ever been in the market recently for a Tacoma TRD Pro, you know it is a rare animal to find and get your hands on. This was the case with the 2018 TRD Pro in Cavalry Blue (amazing color by the way). It is also the same supply-demand situation with 2019 TRD in Voodoo Blue. Will truck buyers also find this with 2020 Army Green?

I have not seen this much chatter and hype about a paint color in at least a decade. Army Green was a bold color choice to select. Toyota is taking a chance here. Based on the feedback I am getting in all Tacoma enthusiast forums I belong to, Toyota will have a major hit on its hands with the incoming TRD Pro – especially Army Green.

Key changes to look for with 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro

I’ll take “How Can I Get a 2020 TRD Pro” for $100 please Alex

“I want to be the first to get Army Green. When should I order one?”

Sooner as opposed to later.

First off, the 2020 Toyota Tacoma is scheduled to begin shipments to dealerships around September time frame. Often with the release of “the new model year anything,” truck supplies will more than likely really begin ramping up beginning October of this year.

If you are in the market for a new Tacoma and know already you want the TRD Pro, my suggestion is to get in the game sooner rather than later. The best thing to do is to contact the Toyota dealership of your choice around August-September. You will be asked to place a deposit to reserve one.

I would anticipate with the high pre-release demand already, you will have a waiting time of a few weeks to a few months.

However, with the looks and features of the 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro in Army Green, once you get yours you will know it was definitely worth the wait.

Please keep me in the loop with your Tacoma purchase process. Are you thinking of pulling the trigger and buying yourself a new 2020 Tacoma? What grade level do you think is best for you? If you want the TRD Pro, do you have your eye on white, black, gray or green?

Will the 2020 Tacoma standard safety package have blind spot monitoring/rear parking sensors included standard or does one still have to pay extra ($800 option on my 2019 TRD Sport)
